Quote: ok rom sent - do be to worried if it doesn't work straight out, I kinda expect it not too I can't test atm so we might have to go through a couple of iterations before it works.

Now what I want to know is does the non-ics equipped evo's have the ICS lamp in the dash? As this will still be a good method of alerting the user to what map is currently running! MrFred do you know?
Where is the lamp normally located?

See the green light that flashes at the 30sec mark?

Quote: ok also, If 99% of people that have Meth hijack their ICS then I can code in something to ping the ICS relay when load > XXX, that way you can use this as a trigger for your mister...

what u think?
...
I like this, that way I can hook up the ICS relay output directly to my alky control unit, rather than to the ICS relay.

Quote: in fact you could just use the current "spray on knock" and set the knock to 0...
Well, I don't have your spray on knock feature yet,lol. The load trigger is the smartest, that way the fuel and timing maps only need to be altered beyond that load setting.

I had been meaning to mention that the ICS 12 V power supplies are still active on my USDM Evo 9. Pins 66 and 67 were at 11.75 V, and I'm sure the relays at pins 56 and 90 are still present and can be controlled. The ICS spray lamp normally is controlled by pin 90 on Evo 9s.

If thats the case, all someone needs to do is grab a 12V L.E.D. from Radio Shack or online and hook it up to the ISC lamp output on the ECU. Once we nail all of this stuff for the 8's and 9's we can refinre the best way to have it easily implimented for all situations.

Crap, I just read your email Dave. I was under the assumption that 0 was the aggressive mapping (the one you would want to normally be on unless something is wrong) and when it exceeds 240-255 (4.7-5.0volts) it triggers the failsafe. Its easier to have an alky kit POWER up something than it is to have it disconnect 5v from going to the ECU.

Can you have it so:

0v = aggressive map
5v = failsafe map

?????????

What do you think Fred??

I like 0v = safe better, because that would be the default incase of an error or problem.

Imagine if your methbox died then you would run aggressive timing and no meth...

No problems evoRS06!

Good point indeed. Thats a better way to go. If someone isn't using a failsafe trigger yet, they will just have to set their daily driving maps in the "safe maps" section.

So can your methbox emit 5v when misting? and 0v when not?

There are a bank of monitored sensors that most of the more complex setups use. If the 'brain' see's any one of these monitored items is in a faulty range, a failsafe trigger is activated, usually +12V or a ground signal.

I agree with tephra on this one.

tephra, no big rush on the test ROM. Its going to be a few days before I have pins to wire up a switch.

I'm confused. You're going to have it setup where the pin has to maintain 4.7v+ to stay on the aggressive map and switch to safe map when 0v occurs?
