Looking for recomendation on Wideband

Sorry if this is not the right forum, but it deals directly with EcuFlash.

I am trying to figure out the best setup for wideband. What I would like it the following.

1. Ability to have visual AFR while driving, I will be doing on-the-road tunes.

2. Ability to log AFR with Taxtrix cable.

3. Accurate AFR readings, some are known not to be the best.

4. Ability to show/read more than AFR, i.e. EGT, Boost, Engine Temp.

5. Portable or permenant is okay.

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Have a great day!

I would recommend the AEM Uego. I am pretty sure it fits all of your credentials. It is one of the fastest reading WB's too. I know it can be logged using mitsulogger but i am not sure about EVOscan.

The AEM is great, but it cant log everything that he wants. It's strictly for AFR's. You can do a serial to USB connection and log on your laptop with Mitsulogger/EvoScan, but only AFR will be logged.

so... has any WB company even caught onto the fact that serial ports are out, and USB connections are in?

any company make a USB compatible WB?

OP, I have an LC-1 with a serial to USB adapter on my car. Ive used it on 2 cars so far for over 60K mi... no problems yet.

works with EvoScan... but i havent been able to get it to work with mitsulogger.

where did you ground your lc1? i tried multiple locations, and could never get a steady reading. A few weeks later, the unit died.

^hehe, i grounded one to the radio frame, one to the bracket that attaches the frame to the chasis, and the seperate Calibration ground is wired to my empty switch panel where i have the pushbutton and LED, then grounded to the bracket there.

ive never had any problems with my LC-1 and it has been used to tune 4 different cars.
my 05' Redline
my 67' Beetle
my 69' Bus
my Evo.

only problem ive ever had, was the serial to USB not always working with Vista... so i installed XP on a Virtual Machine that runs overtop of my vista, and everything works fine.

You and Alan (San Diego), and a fw others have told me the same thing... i dunno what the issue could be. I know of 3 other people running the LC-1 on different cars.

One of the main things you have to remember is to put the WB at least 12" away from the turbo... i have mine welded in right before the cat.

hell, Naji is using a LM-1 and it seems to be working fine for him... thats basically the same as the LC-1.

There is not any wideband that will log everything the OP wants, it wouldnt be a wideband then. I have the LC1/XD16 guage/wideband combo and luv it. But like the above poster WHY these companies still use SERIAL connectors is beyond STUPID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^seriously, serial connectors are soooooooo 1990. lol

although, for racing, i can see why having a screw-in type connector would be better than a connector that could slip out...

Actually, the zeitronix does every single thing he wants. I have used their products on my 2G's and my evo without ANY issues ever. That, and they are one of the best deals around too.

I currently use the AEM UEGO to log mine and I use Mitsulogger.. it will log almost everything you need to log using a laptop and tactrix cable. I use it to log and tune. Great unit!

I believe that the Zeitronix is advertised to do everything th OP is looking for.

Lapkin, Do some searching on here for Zeitronix, AEM UEGO, Innovative. I'm sure they are others that will be mentioned, That's all I got off the top of my head. I have the AEM and although it does'nt log boost, EGT, it does log AFR's in Evoscan well in my case. It was also pretty easy for me to setup which is saying alot. There are many different price points for widebands, there is also an abundance of info on this forum so search around and decide what works best for what you need and is a price you can live with.
