Tuning for 0 knock, having an issue with one area
Smooth out that 120-240 area and I bet that will help. That is a bit of timing for a transitional area.
How much boost are you running to get away with 8* at peak trq on pump?

I had the same problem in that area but only at 3/4 throttle or less just after open loop transition. I kept pulling timing out and eventually resorted to adding fuel. The knock got worse. Tried toluene - no change. Then I added timing back in equivalent to stock and turned lean spool back on and the knock decreased.
anyone else who has defeated lean spool see this?
got nothing to loose, guess I'll give it a shot.
OP
as everyone has said smooth out those crags, ramps from one position to another.
do you skateboard?
and, how the heck do you guys run so much timing in the high load area? I'm at 1 and 2, not 6 and 8

Yeah, I'm not too happy with the jagged look of the timing map, that pretty much reflects the last few changes I made in the past 2 days to try and get rid of this issue. It wasn't originally that bad.
I hit a max of 23psi right now and it drops to 21 steady to redline with the BCS restrictor pill removed and some smoothing on the boost and wastegate tables.
I'm just trying to understand why the ecu increased timing at the onset of the 2 counts of knock, according to Logworks it raised timing to 17* and the knock increased to 3 counts and then it dropped back down again and the knock went away. I'll try going back to near the stock timing for that range and see what it does. Just keep in mind that there is 0 knock at a full wide open throttle run, only at a partial throttle in open loop.

Hmm...you're right. I had pretty much assumed load would be increasing so it wouldn't be falling backwards on the map. Now that I look closer at the datalog for my part throttle run, I'm scoring around 38* towards the 6000 rpm range as I was letting up off the throttle. Makes sense now, good possibility that the drastic change in timing is causing the knock as well. You guys think I should just try going back to the stock timing for that load range? The stock rom lists it at 20* advance and only slightly lower around the immediate load regions.
