I'll try to do 90550001 after that.
Cheers John

As soon as you port it to 90550001 you will start getting some feedback

If you need testers for 96530006, tell me. There are many VIIIs who would be happy about this mod.

Hard to believe its already been six days since I got it. I'm hoping to test it this week. The only thing that might slow me down is that I have to make a road trip this weekend, and I make sure that I don't do anything that takes a while to undo. :-))

I'm now running 90550001 and don't mind testing the live mapping, though I don't get to see my car as often as I'd like.

No more news since above. I have fully tested JDM/UK IX and put test versions for Aus and US IX on here but no one has tested them. I am not presently planning on doing any more versions since I don't think there is sufficient interest. It was a nice technical challenge to work on and I learned a lot, but it isn't something people are demanding.

I can't believe this. The high speed logging feature is essential to log correct values because the time diff. between the values must be short.

It seems that there is some interest for 7 and 8 JDM models. I was really surprised there was zero interest in the test release I made for USDM 9 though. I'm not charging anything for it (and don't want anything for it), if there are minor issues it would be easy to sort as it is so thoroughly tested on JDM 9. The logging is ultrafast, the realtime mapping is reliable, effective and genuinely useful. The features added are easily expandable/customisable as I've given it a lot of thought. However, something is wrong if no one is interested. I'm not upset by that as the project has been educational, a great challenge and interesting, but it doesn't motivate me to do the leg work of rolling it out to loads of different ECUs which is really the boring part. Perhaps no one understands it?

I think it may have been that when you released this, there were few people who had IXs, at least relative to the number of people who had VIIIs. I would love realtime tuning, since I was so used to it in the past with DSMLink and I was excited when you were doing this work. But, it was only done for the IX, so that excluded anyone who had an VIII and actually, since I haev the 05 VIII (96940011), I'm excluded from many of the latest patches, due to the space restriction.

I think, also, perhaps there wasn't as much interest as there should have been because most people just didn't grasp the concept or truly knew what it was. A lot of people shy away from some of the more complex concepts, especially in testing phases. And I don't remember if there was ever a separate thread entitled something like "Patch: live tuning". Was this added to this thread or in the middle of one where we were talking about this for a while? I don't think everyone reads through all of the more advanced threads.

Your work is truly appreciated by all of us. Maybe I am wrong and people just didn't want it...who knows??? I truly think it was possibly more of a misunderstanding, timing issue, ROM issue, etc. Maybe if tephra incorporates it into one of his mods, I'm sure the masses would begin using it.

Eric

I was hoping that Tephra might incorporate it, but he hasn't had chance to test it, and there is no point him complicating his patches if it isn't something people want. One of the problems is that lots of people say they are interested, but it is difficult to get people testing things, many just want the finished product!

realtime mapping doesn't really have to be part of the tephra rom... it would just make things even more complicated... you could have your tuning sessions using the live mapping rom, then when you're done, copy the maps to the tephra modded rom and be done with it...

you'd have all the advantages of realtime mapping, with all the features of tephra's mods.

It does have to be part of the tephra ROM because I've coded it around tephra's alt map features.
