I already have it.

I was wondering what make/year Evo this came from, though?

Also, I'm just curious why 96940011 has so little space compared to the other USDM VIII Roms. If 96530006 has ACD and has all of that free space as well, then there has to be something going on. I wonder if Mitsu was using the 96940011 ROM to start to get ready for the IX Roms. I did a quick check to see if there was a VVT table, but there wasn't.

96530006 is the Euro spec Evo 8 and yes it does have ACD. This is the most similar Evo 8 you will find to a USDM model.

Yeah that's my suspicion Eric.. Not really sure why - its far too hard to work out the differences between ROMID's

Thanks.

Hmmm....that still leaves us clueless on why the 96940011 has so much code in it then. Do Euro Roms have all of the OBD-II testing that the US Roms have? I don't think that would explain it either, though, since all US Roms have that code and only 96940011 is the one with barely any space left.

Well, I guess it would just be easier to see if 96530006 works and if it does, then we are all set.

Yeah, it has to be something weird like that. Oh well, hopefully razorlab can test the 96530006 and let us know.

If it works, that would be great, but then I will have to patch that ROM with mrfred's rear 02 sim after I just did it for 96940011.

In your V5, are you adding mrfreds rear o2 sim patch to the Roms as well?

I can't say if it has OBD II for sure. There are lots of people looking for o2 sim for this ROM ID. Apparently there is an official Ralliart ROM that eliminates the cel. Have a look at http://www.lancerregister.com/showth...hlight=260+cel post 11.

I wouldn't mind testing this, but I would rather wait for razorlab to test in on his spare USDM 05 ECU first. I know it probably won't be an issue if it doesn't work, but since this is my only car and my daily driver, I would rather have someone else try first on a spare ECU first.

If razorlab doesn't get around to testing it within the week, I might let you know and I can give it a shot one of these weekends.

Not sure if I am jumping into this convo, but if you want someone to test this rom with my 05 VIII MR, I have no problem being a test subject.

tephra, how much extra space do you need, and would it be possible to free up that space by eliminating other features, such as valet mode, or perhaps some features of the stock rom that we could live without? EGR, or something else?
