Let me save tephra some time in replying.

It would be nearly impossible to make enough free space in this ROM, because in general, when adding new code, you need a certain amount of contiguous free space in the ROM. Typically, this is at the end of the ROM after all of the code that Mitsu wrote. There is always a certain amount of free (unused) space left.

However, in this ROM, Mitsus code ends and the space left over is next to nothing. Only very little code can be added. Your question about removing something else from the ROM doesn't matter because you would be eliminating code elsewhere in the ROM and not adding to the contiguous free space at the end of the ROM. Basically, freeing up little space here and there throughout the ROM won't help.

So, just sit back and wait for razorlab to test the 96530006 ROM. Maybe we will get lucky and that ROM will work. If not, I'm sure there is a ROM somewhere that we can get to work. But, I would say 96940011 is out of the question.

Thanks Eric,

Basically thats correct, whilst it is possible to find bits of free space and use it, it becomes a LOT of overhead because then this ROM becomes vastly different to the other ROMID's.. if you know what I mean!

Lets see how RL goes first

Cheers
D.

And made sure to copy over the immoblizer code to, right?

What happens after you flashed it, can you flash back on a different rom, did your car start on fire, etc?

Damn Damn Damn, anyone have any ideas on what else we could try?

Hmmmm, not looking too good for us 96940011 guys. And to make it worse, this one ROM ID is for ALL 05 USDMs. Damn Mitsu.

Something will turn up soon, I'm sure.

Yes of course I did.

Yes it starts right up when I flash back in my normal ROM.

Sure, tell me how to do it and I will.

Just type in 0xfaa for the immobilizer code?

No, he is talking about disabling the immobilizer in the ECU Periphery. Let me look up which one for you.

Edit: faa is the address for the periphery that needs to be changed. The stock value is 56DA. This needs to be changed to 56D2 (changing the fourth bit from the end from 1 to 0).
