This is a common problem when you are running big injectors. Nothing is wrong with it. If you tune it really good, the problem becomes less. But it still exists.
I think somewhere in our ECU, the hidden codes say. Screw big injectors!

It is?

Never had a complaint of this. Mine start up first crank every time. Tuned up to 1000cc injectors that start the first crank every time. I've tuned probably 20+ Evos with the PTE 780cc injectors that the OP has that do not have this issue and crank over the first time.

I think something else is going on here that is compounded with the latency settings for larger injectors.

Is this BS or is this factual? Razorlab, can you confirm this??

Yes the IX trims reset to 0 whenever you flash the ECU. However I don't see what this has to do with not being able to work with the trims. If anything I think it makes it easier. You just have to have some patience when scaling.

It's the Evo 8's that are a pita since you have to cut the power to the battery to reset the fuel trims.

The rear 02 has nothing to do with fueling whatsoever.

Really? you haven't seen this issue from the cars you tunned? I need to learn your secrets.

Yeah, mine starts up almost every time also. And I have 1050cc Fic.

However, It is rare, but It happens. It takes more than 4 or 5 cranks to start. And yes, it happens when the engine is warm and the car was sitting for a while.

Mine starts this problem like around 3 hours after I park my car in cold weather. It is weird that I have to wait 3 hours... not before nor after.... exactly around 3 hours. I don't really care since It starts after 5 cranks anyway. But I want to know why this happens.

And, my fuel trims are near 0%. Idle like stock with my cams.

If someone find the secrete to make it like stock injectors. share the findings.

Not a direct correlation with fueling but the STFT is based on the rear o2 voltage (percentage point from 0-200%.)

I do agree it takes alot of patience...as no one setting is universal for injectors, it just takes a long damn time and if your picky about getting it to be perfect, then its REALLY gonna be a long time.

Rear O2 voltage does not have a direct, indirect, or any other type of effect on fuel trims. It is there for emissions only. The front O2 is used for all fuel trim adjustments.

No it's not, it is based on the front 02 sensor, and STFT (02 feedback) is -/+ 25

Yeah, just so we are all clear... It is vitally important to log the FRONT O2 sensor for trims...

Does anybody know if the problem could be from an incorrect setting in the 9v and 11v latency? Since this is where the voltage is when the engine is cranking and since my idle fuel trims are 0,0,3?

The O2 sensor signal does not need to be logged. Only STFT, LTFT Low, and LTFT Med.

sorry to bring up an old thread but i was wonder ing if the OP found a fix? i have what seems to be 1200cc PTE injectors and i have the same issues with startup! i would like to adjust my latency values further but i would like to know if i'm on the right path. the 9v and 11v range is what the car should be seeing during cranking correct? and will increasing the value of the latency increase or decrease fuel?
