Im not disagreeing that the stock ecu is sufficient for most Evo owners.. It is NO WHERE near catching the standalones, ill stick by that opinion..

Better yet, aside from the 1/4 mile times.. When stock ecu can make 900hp on a mustang dyno and 1100hp on a dynojet then ill retract my statements..

it depends on your application Mike..

In some aspects (especially for street or dd evo's) is the stock ECU is better.

Think of it this way, once we understand the full code of the ECU, we can rewrite it to our hearts content, leaving OEM stuff in, but rewriting the stuff we want to.

I believe that we will have a OEM Mitsubishi AEM soon.

I think 900whp on a stock ECU is possible. Definitely not the stock MAF, but at that point is someone going to argue that its not a stock ECU if it has a piggyback attached? I mean at some point the cost of the piggybacks required to run the car would equal an AEM, ViPEC, or Motec, but if its about what the stock ECU can actually do then it seems irrelevant to the discussion.

I could buy a used Pro for speed density (or use the stock ECU and rescale the voltage for a 5 bar)- 200 to 300 dollars
Rebic IV for up to 8 more injectors- 50-250

I still dont have antilag for the launch control but you can add an MSD DIS2 or DIS4 for ignition cut 2 step (or like me I had already bought one so its "included")

Paul's car makes 1100+ on 1600s and I have run my car on the Pro and stock ECU with 1680s (FoMoCo 160#) on gasoline and E98. That makes the Rebic unneeded except for the E85 Army I would think.

Necropost champ 2017

In other news I did 934 on a stock ECU, only mention it because I was the comment before yours from 8.5 years ago.

Thanks John
Just trolling and I found this old thread. Stock ECU mods have come along way since 08. I recently changed over to a 7 bar Omni. Did my own scaling cuz all the info I could find was wrong. With the scaling I have now I didn't need to change my fuel map at all so it must be close. Remember I'm a cheapskate, LOL
P.S. I've got my new race trailer, see you at the shootout.
