ECU Question

OK, so here is my situation:

I am in the process of basically swapping an 05 evo into the shell of an 03. It doesnt matter why. The shell has its ignition, key, immobilizer, and ECU, as well as its dash and engine wiring harnesses. Now, I want to use the 05 ECU in the new 03 evo. How do I go about doing this? If I just swap in the 05 immobilizer and ECU, obviously the car won't start unless I can get into the ECU and disable the immobilizer, correct? If I try to use ECUflash with the 03 key/ignition and the 05 immobilizer and ECU installed, can I at least access the ECU in order to make the changes I need to (i.e. disable the immobilizer)? Please help

If I understood everything correctly then you should get the immobilizer code from the 03's ECU and then swap in your 05 ECU and put the code from the 03 into your 05 ECU.

If you're installing an entire '05 Evo 8 drivetrain into an '03 Evo 8, the biggest problem I see is that there will be no wiring to control the ACD unit. And there is an ACD ECU that will need to be installed. Also, the ECU does either send or receive information (I forget at the moment), so you'd need to get that wiring working as well.

The whole ACD system has been removed. You know what? It doesnt matter. I will just use the 03's ECU and Immobilizer and just copy over my maps, etc.

Or you could connect with ECU flash and write down the code and then swap the ECU and the connect and write the ignition key code into the 05 ECU.

Total time=10minutes
