Tuning the Green - Initial impressions vs. Stock Turbo

I installed the Green yesterday and did some initial tuning. It definitely pulls hard and makes a lot more power.

The tune isn't complete, but it's probably 85% there... running 25psi on 93 oct. I made 322whp on a Mustang Dyno last week, with the stock turbo. The Data Log Lab chart below shows a log from the stock turbo on that same dyno day vs. a log I just made on the Green.

What was changed:
Code:
Mobile1 5w-30 >>> ENEOS 0w-50
Stock Turbo >>> FP Evo Green Turbo
Stock Manifold >>> Ported/Coated Stock Manifold
Stock Hotside >>> Ported/Coated 10.5 Green Hotside
Stock O2 Housing >>> Ported/Coated eBay O2 Housing
Stock WGA >>> Forge 20psi Actuator
#60 Boost Pill >>> #65 Boost Pill
Stock Head Bolts >>> ARP Head Studs

Good gains in the area under the curve.

One thing to note is that your boost curve looked better before than after. Now, it seems that your getting boost creep. Your boost does not peak until the middle of the rpm range. I suspect that the Ebay O2 housing is causing this. Try and tune this out with your WGDC settings. I had the same experience with a car that had this housing. If you cannot tune it out, then get a different housing.

His stiffer wastgate actuator can also contribute to his new boost curve.
Well... He can hold more power up top. It is good.

Very nice...solid gains.

It would be nice if you could post the stock charts and green charts together on one chart for each data item, like you did with the dyno plot. That would make it a bit easier to see the differences/gains.

Yes. The first one was done a week ago, on the stock turbo, right before I dyno'd 322whp on a Mustang.

The second one is today, on the Green.

My timing curve didn't alter too much between stock & green... this is pretty much the limit for me on Shell 93 and 25psi, no knock.

I dont run as much timing at spool on 93@25psi as you do. I am running 11.5 AFR to redline though. The Green seems to respond better for my VIII running 11.5 from 4k to 7500 instead of running more timing. I taper to 21psi by redline though since I just use a MBC for boost control.

I would say it's more that forge actuator and him still tuning the WGDC curve. All the HD actuators I've seen need the "bathtub" wgdc curve.
