Tuning with an External WG dump

Anyone else tuned an Evo with one? I have been getting knock counts, but the timing/AFR/boost is rather conservative. Just trying to see if the sensor is picking up the dump.

I don't get knock with mine. 38mm open dump near first down pipe bend pointing toward the back of the car.

44mm dump right off the manifold down by the down pipe and under the car.
It is rediculously loud. I don't have any troubles.

If the dump tube isn't touching anything I don't see why it would be creating knock counts.

Ok, thanks guys. I will start looking at other areas then. Just wanted to make sure the open dump didn't cause a problem before I started onto other things.

I've seen random knock counts with an external dump on the stock turbo. Strangely, it was always while heading East. Go west and knock was gone. Toluene, low boost, low timing didn't get rid of it. I don't think the dump tube was hitting anything.

If the dump isn't far enough away or under the car it will create extremely high under hood temps and raise the intake air temp as well. Maybe look into that.
