1st: Read this:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=245980
2nd: Go to the site in the OP's sig. Join. In the site you will find ECU unlocker. It will allow you to pull the rom out of the ECU as well as reflash it. If you want you can change the settings of the ECU to permanently unlock it once you've gained access. This is the direct link to the unlocker but you will need to join to access it:
http://www.aktivematrix.com/forum/dl...24187d51065f30

Then you should throw out a thanks to MalibuJack for making it available.

been there, done that, downloaded it, it was the only way i could pull the rom from the car, however the versions of ecuflash i found, 1.28 and 1.29a crashed every time i tried to use them after install, just wouldnt start, i have no idea why, however now i have the rom, i cannot adjust it cos of the definitions issue.

also found with using older versions that, when you pulled a rom from a car that worked with say 1.34 ie i had the correct xml file for it in the folder, it just opened, however when i pulled it with 1.28 it asked me to match or give base file from a list, but the actual xml file that was already in the folder, was not specified to copy the definitions from! confused with it all

thanks

88570008.xml will display the maps for any JDM Evo IX I've come across - GT, RS, GSR, MR, FQ. If 88570008 is not the ID of the ECU, just tell it to inherit 88570008.

I still use Ecuflash 1.29a, you need a tweak to the xml file "endian" if you use later versions with an older xml.

ok so im a bit lost with it now, if i install older version, it just crashes completely on opening, if i go back to new version i can open the roms that come in the folder with the program, but not the ones i have downloaded from the locked ecu, it forces the program to crash, and yes i do have that xml file in the folder already

any suggestions? how do i wipe everything completely? can someone give me a list of all installed system files and reg entries?

thanks

This is one of the reasons I stuck with 1.29a. I would uninstall everything including all the drivers and then try to reinstall your chosen version, if not reinstall Windows and try again. Don't know if it works in a virtual machine.

Look in add/remove programs under Windows Driver Package - Tactrix.
