Raised 2-step now it misses when using

If i raise my 2-step from factory 5k to 5500+ it will start to miss fire and the car ofcourse wont launch and just fall on its face. What is the best way to set it up in ecuflash. Thanks

its driver error. if you went into stationary rev limiter and changed the values to 5500 then it should rev limit you at that then just dump ur clutch when you have built some boost and you should go its not hard lol. its pretty harsh on your drivetrain though.

Its not that, trust me. If i sit on the 2 step for anymore then 3 seconds it im guessing gets to rich and misses, so when i acually try to launch the car is missing on a cylinder or 2 and i have no power. I just did the 280-300kpa remap setup on the timing and fuel tables in the ecu so maybe it will fix it. But it seems to dump too much fuel on on the 2 step and not fire it. Its hard to launch a car on 2 cylinders firing

It could be knocking during the 2 step (mechanical or in the motor) and then pulling timing, or it could be that you are being too aggressive with the clutch on the launch. You have to slip the clutch out or it will just bog.

yes! you have to slip the clutch out, don't dump it. Also do a data log to see what is happenning while you were launching.

I understand all that, i mean my other car is a fully built 2.4 awd laser with a powertrain tech twin disk. I been playing with these awd cars for 7 years. Just kinda new to this ecuflash stuff. I understand how to use it, still learning alittle about whats best. Even if i launch slipping the clutch how i always do it in my other car its not firing the other cylinders, this is full throttle on the 2step i should say. If i sit there and 2 step it for 10 seconds, and then just let off the 2 step it misses for 15 second and bogs down to like 500rpms till it clears itself out. I gapped my plugs smaller still no change. The way i usually do it now is buy slowly revving it up to it hits the 2 step, but 75% down on the gas petal so its not under full load. Works fine, but full load it will load up with fuel it seems like.

try giving the car a few revs, then hitting the 2step slowly....not just slamming the gas right to the two step

How much boost is registering on your gauge while on the 2 step? If it bogs, try raising it till it doesnt. Most people set to 6K on mild Evos. Also you don't want to sit on the 2 step for extended periods of time, especially if it's knocking. And yes, it's mis-firing.. thats what the 2 step does.. it causes the engine to misfire at the target so it wont climb any higher.

Ok maybe im not making myself clear. I understand how a 2 step works. I have launch control on my fully built 2.4 awd laser with a gt4088 and alllll suporting mods im not new to this game by any means, im trying to understand why this problem is there or if other people have this same problem. If i have the stock 2 step set at 5k i could sit full throttle on it for a week (not that i did) and let off the gas and it would go back down to idle and not be miss firing. It builds full boost (22psi) full out on the 2 step

I know not to sit on the 2 step too long, 5-10 seconds is the longest i sit on it before launching or letting out. Like i explained how i normally do it since it dosent work under full throttle and starts to miss is by slowly bringing the revvs up to 75% throttle so its just hitting the 2 step and then launching it build like 5-10psi. Im trying to see if that is what needs to be done, or if i have something i have to change in ecuflash to compensate. Full throttle 2 step and trying to launch it makes it miss on a cylinder or 2 when while doing it for more then 5 seconds to build boost, and then when you go to launch its for example like you have a spark plug or 2 unplugged. Ever try racing a car on a missing cylinder?

To ansower your original question.

Most people just change the stationary rev limiter value to 5500-6250. My car makes around 8psi on the 2 step at 6K.

Some people additionally retard the timing in those cells which has an antilag effect and will cause it to breath some fire if your catless.

There is a "post your fully tuned timing maps" thread, in there you will find several examples of the retarded timing. My car falls on it's face at 5500 too.. that was the point I was making. 6000 spins the tires, 5500 bogs.

Look for little islands of lower timing (10 degrees) around 140-180 @ 6000 rpms.
