so i decided to pull my valve cover after a year of owning the car
...i was just lazy before, well anywho....
turns out i have hks 272's on intake and exhaust and something called unorthadox cam gears....which appear to be adjustable to +/- 10 degrees....
well i didn't mention this when i was gettin gmy email tune, however I did start doin my own tuning, now should anything be affected by this???? or with cams, just tne as normal?

you should be fine, as long as you are tuning from scratch and your tune isnt knocking
if you just threw on a premade map for a stock cammed car then you would have problems, however i dont think mellon would let you do this

Me either. If you got a custom tune from him where you sent logs and he sent you a flash. Mellon would have tuned it as it sat. With the cams. And you 'should' be fine.
He does excellent & safe work.
Are your logs clear of knock? Are you excessively lean thru the midrange?
Cams typically allow for an increase in airflow / and should show up as lean on a car that was sent a tune w/o factoring in cams.

it's quite common for customers to omit a mod from their list like fuel pumps etc... that's why my starting fuel/timing maps are somewhat conservative. I'm not in the business of buying engines
on cars with questionable mods I always start with very short WOT pulls before taking it to redline so that I can verify that the fuel/knock is heading in the right direction first.
you get a whole lot more than just fuel and timing tweaks with a Mellon Tune!
