Just got my tactrix cable and tried to download the stock rom from the ecu and get this message from ecuflash.

I could not get v1.29a to work either.

Same here. I'm in contact with Tactix right now to try and solve the issue.

 

ok. did some diggin. i downloaded ecu unlocker. ran it. then opened ecuflash. it read the rom on my ecu, but now i try to open it and it says unknown rom image!! wtf??

 

Your's is a different issue if you needed to use ECU Unlocker.

I know damn well my ECU isn't locked, and the cable I had was working with no issues. This problem just popped out of nowhere. I can even still datalog... just can't read or flash ROMs. I can still read/flash using one of my friend's cables though.

OP, can you still datalog?

 

i am going to do some datalogging on the way home in an hour or so.

from what i read, seems like an XML file error on my end.

I contacted tactrix. They are going to send me a link to fix this problem. I speculating that it's is a issue with the driver.

 

Can you let me know what that link is when they send it? I haven't heard back from them yet, but it sounds like we have the same problem.

 

Tactrix said that I need to download ecuflash v1.35 for it to work with this cable. So I downloaded ecuflash 1.35 and attempted to install it, but it will not install. Window pops up with "NSIS Error: installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete...etc". Anyone have problem installing ecuflash 1.35?

 

I just installed it and it installed updated drivers for the cable. I'll give it a shot later tonight and get back to you to let you know if it worked.

 

it took me 3 tries to get it installed! but it is up and running with no problems now.
