Evoscan Issue (Ecuflash works)

Edit: I reinstalled XP, evoscan just will not stay connected.
I put the openport on com1, and evoscan still will not connect.

I have reinstalled ECUFLASH, and all drivers. I have reinstalled Evoscan, I have also tryed older ecuflash versions. Any ideas?

The evoscan will connect then disconnect right after connecting.

operating system is windows xp.

EVOSCAN error
Info: Initialize Vehicle ECU...
Info: Initializing At 5 baud...
Info: Initialization Complete...
Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
Info: ECU ID: E4C7
Info: Connection successful...
Error: Unable to open COM1
The system cannot find the file specified

any ideas?

go into the system properties, then device manager, then com ports.

Find the port with the open ecu cable listed, and remove / delete the cable from the system.

Then unplug the cable, and reinsert it.

Hopefully windows will then find the correct driver for it.

Had a similar issue myself a few days ago and the above worked for me.

Reinstalled Windows XP, still having same issue.

Evoscan will not open com1, and will not allow me to change it to com 2,3,4.

I did this and it worked, but why? I was having the exact same problem as the original post. Is the LC-1 causing this problem? I seem to be having a lot of issues with that thing.

If your wideband is not connected or EvoScan is not correctly conifgured to the correct COM port for your wideband then you get this error. By unticking it you it no longer tries to connect == no more error.
