TPS 98% + IDC Accuracy

whenever I've looked at peoples WOT logs there tps reads 100% (as it should).

mine never goes above 98%?........yes the pedal is buried

I'm guessing that this is not an issue at all, but just wondering if anyone elses is similar.....possible reasons?

Also how accurate is the IDC calculation on evoscan? as mine seems to be hitting 97% at redline and the car is underfuelling at the minute running 19.5psi (standard 560cc injectors).......I'm guessing the calc is wrong? fuel trims are ok.

any ideas guys

TPS sensor could be slightly out of adjustment or throttle cable needs adjustment. Not a major problem at 98% though.

I think the IDC calc is pretty far off. I didn't run into a fueling issue on my car until 115-120%

Mine was doing the same thing, not a big deal but I am OCD so I fixed it. Here's how I did it.

Turn the key on but don't start the car.

Plug in your Tactrix and start EvoScan or Mitsulooger logging whatever and TPS.

Put your computer, while logging, on the dash so you can see it through the windshield.

Pop the hood and loosen the hardware holding the TPS on.

Keep one of them a little snug not completely tight though.

using the plastic piece where the throttle cable goes into the throttle body hold the TB wide open (this is why we didn't start the car!).

Move the TPS until it just barely registers 100% on EvoScan or Mitsulogger. If you go blasting past it, it will not read more then 100% so double check and then check again!

Once you have it just at 100% then tighten the hardware down and get in the car and press the gas all the way to the floor to make sure the cable is adjusted properly.

If all is well then button everything up and stop the logger! Just delete that log because other than a tool for setting the TPS that log is worthless.

Now go log and see 100% in the TPS column instead of 98%! I told you I am OCD!

Josh

I did the exact same thing as jmelocik. Be careful when tightening the bolts on the tps sensor if you go that route.

Have you gained anything by getting it to read 100% ?

Just wondering as mine also goes to 97 / 98% max.

My TPS idle at 5% and max 97%. Throttle cable is definitely loose, didn't bother to fix it until next major service

LOL WHEELIE FTW! Funny Chris! Yeah you won't notice a difference but it made me feel better when I do logs and see 100% instead of 98%!
Also it makes me feel like I do a better job of working on my car than the guy at the plant! Maybe not but I told you I'm OCD!

I'm totally with you there for sure....98% just doesn't sound as good as 100% does it? haha

it's a HTA 35R + tubular header + BR v-band DP mated to a 3" test pipe/catback and BR bullet muffler.

I like the sound most of the time but there is a nasty spot at 3500rpm that started when I installed the 35r+ header. I haven't done anything about it yet.
