Doublecheck the cam timing, when the gears line up with their marks on the cams, marks on the cam cover... then the crank should be "just before" the mark for most cars

you said it has a hard start, does it run or not?

I just put BC 272s in my car last week, installed by me and I have 0 issues. Like everyone has said already, you need to check not only you cam timing, but also that the crank and oil pump marks are lined up if you took the timing belt off and it happened to go loose.

make sure you reconnected the cam sensor or that it is not 180* off, that will cause the engine not to fire.
