10 knocks at 2843rpm (stationary)!?????

ok so i put some 272 cams in last night turn the crank 3 or 4 times to see if all was ok (it seemed to be) and started the car all went well started straight away sounded really nice

then logged a idle and a couple of revs with evoscan and had 10knocks at 2843rpm with no load (car was stationary)

also had 3 knocks at 2218.... whats going on here???????? is this normal

if my timing is out can i tell with evoscan and adjust????? any suggestions

Need more info, did you try to log again also, did you actually pull the timing belt off to do the cams and retime it or did you cheat and use the stock cam gears never removing the belt????

Did you bleed out the lifters before you put the cams in?

False knock. You cant have that high knock and not even boost more then 3psi.

And yes, you need to get tuned before you even think about hitting boost.

false knock comes from other things on the car knocking. like exhaust, ic pipes, basically things not being tightened down.

the lope may be causing the knock, or additional vibrations

didnt log the car before... i blew my clutch and gearbox a while ago and didnt have acess to a lappy before the breakage. and when i put the car back together i just thought i'd chuck the cams in at the same time....

there was no knock at idle... (is that what you mean by lope)

would the lifters cause a knock? i did have noisy lifters before hand. it would come on when warming up then go and then come back every now and again when warm
