ok that worked but still no start
just something i noticed.
with my stock rom the order of maps is
rom info
misc
mods
fuel
timing
limits
turbo
idle
etc

but with v5.1 9653006
misc was half way down with fuel and timing moved to different places too!
does that matter?

 

Turn off valet and move the valet RPM limit to like 8k and see if it starts up then

 

valet was/is off! rpm was 1400rpm.
my settings are on post #22

 

try the valet rpm at 8000.

hrmmm... something else mustn't be right... can u post your ROM so we can take a look? maybe the injector scaling is off or something...

 

just to note with my stock rom uploaded when i turn on ignition my cel is on steady for 10secs ish,
but with 96530006 v5.1 when i turn on igntion my cel flashes for 10secs ish,

that sounds like valet mode is enabled.

but fast flashing indicates you have valet turned on.

but you do have a 1400rpm limit, so it should start ok.

WOAH! i just found this thread, those rom patches are amazing! Flash cel on knock, and all the other good functions! Great work tephra. I just have one question... Would this rom patch work on a 03 USDM VIII (94170008)? If not, should i install my copy of IDA-Pro and start dis-assembling my rom?

EDIT: Nevermind, i found it on your V5.8 testing thread. I can use 94170015 i believe. YOU ROCK!!!!
