Hamish - modifying the MUT plug on a cable supplied by you (with pins 1/4/5/7/16 ) - will allow me to log the AYC/ABS items? If yes - can you please post how?

if i understand it right you just change the ECU in EvoScan to corresponding one AYC/ABS

then you have an older cable where pin1 is connected to pin4 on the usb cable side. you need to change the car end to put wire from pin1(car obdii plug) to location pin15(car obdii plug)

this is the first time I have mentioned this, so a large number of people may pick up this information and actually start connecting to AYC and ABS now.

Hamish - thanks - I will try that.

If you do not want this info to get public - you should only send info to your "registered" customers

So pins 1, 4 & 15 are all joined? Does this only work on Evoscan cables?

I do not think they are connected - because then it would work for my current setup.
Cable (evoscan cable) side OBD connectro has pins 1,4,5,7,15,16
Car side plug - has cables going into: 1,4,5,7,9,14,16

If moving car side pin 1 to pin 15 should solve it - then it leads me to a conclusion that they are currently NOT connected inside the cable plug. Will try it today evening.

Looking at my Tactrix cable I have 4,5,7,9,11,15,16.

So could I join pin 4 & 15 to make this cable work for ABS/AYC?

based on what I understand what Hamish is proposing - you need to get the pin 15 on the cable plug to connect to pin 1 on the car side. So connecting 4 and 15 on the cable side will not help.

try to move pin1 into pin15 on the car side (female) connector.

On the Tactrix cable 4 & 5 are ground, 7 is the K line, 9 & 15 are the L line, 16 is 12V.

In the service manual pin 1 & 7 are the diagnostic lines connected to the AYC/ABS/ACD.

So I can see why we connect pin 15 (L-line in Tactrix cable) to pin 1 on the car side. The next question is whether this will work on a Tactrix cable or just the Evoscan cable. Depends whether the L line is driven the same?

I connected pin 1 and 9 on the car OBD plug with a patch wire (1 and 9 are next to each other). This effectively connects the Tactrix L line to the AYC/ABS/ACD diagnostic line.

With the ignition on the ACD and ABS lights were flashing. For the ACD all three lights were flashing if a cable was connected, and just the Tarmac light flashing more quickly if a cable was not connected.

I then used Evoscan 2.4 to try to connect. It managed to connect to the AYC ECU and return an ECU code, but didn't successfully log anything other than 255 on all requests with the engine off. However, the three ACD lights stopped flashing so I know it was connected. The actuators and DTCs didn't make sense/work.

For the ABS ECU, it kept cycling through the init procedure but returned an ECU code.

I've not tried with the engine on as a load of bulls have escaped from the field next to my house

Has anyone got Evoscan ACD/AYC/ABS logging working on an Evo 7-9 using any of the available cables or is it still to be debugged?

I disconnected the wire from car OBD pin 9 and again connected pin 1 to the Tactrix L line. ABS still doesn't connect. AYC does, but Evoscan's request ID for TPS is not correct for my JDM IX. However, when I manually log request ID 1c I get TPS from the AYC computer. So the Tactrix cable can connect to AYC...

Pin 9 is for ETACs. I'll reconnect and see if AYC logging will still work.

"Logging" still works on the Evo 9 with pin 9 connected, but the data is nonsense and when you try to drive the ACD/AYC/ABS are doing weird things and it feels like something will break in the drivetrain just moving around at parking speeds. I think the logging items must be setting off actuators.

So has anyone got Evoscan working on an Evo 7-9 for the AYC/ACD/ABS with any cable?
