patch for 88590015: control front and rear O2 with wideband
mrfred,
I lied, I got your patch working yesterday. I was wondering, does the patch follow the normal high/low octane fuel tables? I noticed that when I switch to my alternate maps the AFR's stay the same. If so, how hard would it be to have the closed loop wideband patch follow the alternate maps when you hit the switch. The reason being is that I run 87 octane on my alternate map, and as such I run a little richer for part throttle boosting up hills and running near 16:1 AFR doesn't always work out so well in the heat. Also someday I'm going to set up my alternate maps for E85 and I'm sure that it will have different fueling needs than gasoline.
thanks for the great work, car drives amazing. I especially like how I can set my global AFR when the car is warming up. The car starts up and runs great with silky smooth driving once warmed up. From what I can tell, my wideband is switching plenty fast when cruising which is great, I'm mounted right behind the oil pan on my downpipe.

Glad you like how it works. I'll probably try to do one more iteration where the base pulse follows the fuel map, and then it should work even better (more precisely follow the fuel map).
It will follow the "octane averaged AFR" which is the AFR used in the code for open loop fueling. tephra's alt map should be sending info to that same RAM variable, so my patch should already work with tephra's alt map. If not, then I'll have to take a look to see what he's done.
Sounds like a good location for the WBO2 sensor. I'm going to have to take look under my car to see whether I can do the same without pulling the DP (Its more of a hasle on with my car because of the Cusco LAB braces).

mrfred - with this patch now that the front 02 sensor is no longer being used can I use the front 02 sensor ADC to log another input.
I have a sensor (0-5v) for my meth kit that I want to log. Other than wiring the sensor into the ADC and logging the correct address is anything else needed?

I've figured out how to make the ECU set the base fuel pulse using the fuel map when in closed loop. This means that closed loop cruise will work even better now because both the base fuel pulse and the fuel trims will follow the fuel map. I've been testing it this weekend and its working great. I'll have to post up revised instructions soon. I may end up porting this to all ROMs.
With this patch in place, can I remove the front 02 sensor wire from the ECU so that it can be used for logging another sensor? Or is it still used in some way?
I want to feed in meth flow via 0-5v sensor.

how can I just disable the front o2 but leave the rear alone with this patch, I dont have a lc1, I tried the patch and I run way to lean. Is there a way to disable the front since its going out and I am running way to rich and just want to disable it.

This patch requires the LC-1 analog out be wired into the ECU, so its not surprising that it doesn't work without it. It wouldn't be easy to write a patch to allow removing the front O2 without putting a legit signal in its place.
