Stock ECU Tuning Wiki is up and running
For user level settings - I had the same though about inheriting, and I dont think you can do it. I'm not positive though. Thats why we could not divide up user levels by each mod but would have to put all the mods into one user level.
It would be cool, if you could use the user level to basically choose what mods you want to use. That would be such a great user experience to just be able to select your rom mods from a drop down menu. Then we really would only need one XML, that would be great. Maybe Colby can suggest something for that.

Well at that point don't think of it is a user level setting as it is selectable table display. Same point, just different way to describe it and its behavior.
Yeah I've thought about asking colby for that. But again, would have to be generic at his level for mutliple car support, and then definable at the definition file level. I'm sure it can be done, but I'm sure he has other things on his plate that are more pressing [shrug].
For now I think we just need to worry most about updating the base def files correctly (I put in the new boost control tables and lean spool last night) and then getting all the individual roms updated.
Which has brought me to my next point. Watching how things were done for the evo9base and roms in the New XML thread made me think that again the Wiki could save the day by consolidating efforts into a single spot. I'm proposing that we post up the newest evo7base file I have and all of the ROM definitions and let the masses contribute there directly. And I'm not talking about posting a file, I'm talking about the raw xml code so it can be directly edited in the wiki.
Thoughts?

I don't see any ads on the other site, am I missing something?
Also from a user experience, it would really be pretty much the same if our info was linked or was directly on his page. Since we are both running media wiki and the page is structured in nearly the same way, an average user might not even notice they were on a different website.

I am at work right now, they use IE, but I'm sure they have all kinds of ad blockers.
posting the RAW XML to the wiki would be great but you have to make sure that everyone doesn't start organizing it in the way they prefer. It might be hard to keep all the code consistant like that.
Although to be honest it is proably only going to be 2 or 3 people editing the code and they all know what they are doing so I think it will be fine.

... you know I deleted the paragraph I wrote about limiting access to the usual rom-guru suspects and a cadre of approved members (liberally approved but still). We could certainly set some ground rules, but frankly I'm less concerned about order or groupings as I am table names (lots have changed and I can't always tell what is changed vs what is new) and the individual roms. Nice thing about the dual definition method is that the ROM defs don't HAVE to be in order. The display order appears to be exclusively inherited from the base. But we would have to make it clear that the base def table names are not to be changed ***** nilly, and that the base def is THE authority for table names, user levels, and catergories. All ROMS must fall in line with the base. Otherwise the ROM xml won't even work since it is the table name that is used to link between the base and the ROM def.
But you are right it likely own't be a lot of people, though I hope more than 2 or 3 total at least because we need one person per ROM except for the reall eager beavers who want to help with a ROM they aren't invested in (like I'm only REALLY invested in 94170015
)
I'd say go for it, post it up then. And we can make a new thread here in EcuFlash to let the coders know, or rather ask that if they release a new patch, that they also update the community XML to include that change.
On the Wiki page, has anyone placed any of the xml's for the different ROM's?
I was wanting to see if I could get a hold of the 96530006 ROM (Already have it) along with the xml that will enable me to see everything/maps that have been found so far to date.
I haven't had my car for almost 2.5 months now, and it's hard to keep up and learn when you don't have a car to play with. I am almost out 2.5 months because of the damn car...
Anyone have a xml for the 96530006 that has everything currently found for it?
Anyone wanna make a 96530006 with the speed density patch for me? Damn i wish I knew how to do that stuff... A few more weeks and the whip will be alive once again...
EDIT: If anyone already has that, can you send it to me at thomas.klemann @ forceprotection dot net?

the download is not working - compressed folder is invalid or corrupt

Click on the link on that page; ie. don't right-click/save-as, just click on the "Image:94160015.zip" link. It'll take you to a download page, where you can download the real file. I just tested the download, and it works just fine.

Hey guys, I missed this thread and started my own on accident with some added suggestions for the Wiki. Please forgive my boneheadedness and add my ideas into the suggestion list. Thanks in advance.
