Problem with map switching

So i didn't really want to start a new thread but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out my weird map switching problems. So let me start with a little about my setup:

-evo 8 ecu with tephra v7 (96534706) and JOT harness for map switching, and Methanol injection with pressure switch to trigger map switching.
-Settings in rom for alt map activation:
Alt map time to activate: 1500ms
Alt map threshold: 200 load
Alt map ADC0F threshold: 3v

The problem i have been fighting is that i can't seem to get the map switching to work correctly. I have verified that there are about 5v at pin 42 (ADC_0F) when i need the alt map, and 0v when i need my main map activated. I have done this with a volt reader (and the LED in the JOT harness lighting up) as i have not been able to log voltage with evoscan (tried using these instructions).

I have checked over all the wiring and everything seems to be in order so now I'm leaning towards an issue with my rom. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

I was able to log something a bit strange tonight while troubleshooting this issue. It seems that during a quick pull the alt map was activated for a second but then reverted to the main map. Here's a quick shot of what i saw. (Main map WGDC is set at 30% and Alt map WGDC is set at 60%.

Sorry about the long post but any help would be appreciated.

Have a look here to log alt map status:

Cheers!

Since you have the led I'm pretty sure this is your problem,....drop the voltage threshold for the map switch down half a volt. Sometimes there is a little variation in the voltage across that line, nothing major, but I had a similar problem where the car would switch maps initially and then go back, thought it was the fail safe but ended up being the voltage across the line. Until you can log the voltage or drop the threshold you won't be able to confirm it, but dropping your threshold a bit won't screw anything up. You could drop the activation voltage down to 1 volt and it would still work just as well.

The problem is that even if its really close to 3 volts all it has to do is drop below just once and it will trip it. You don't say what meth kit you have but if you have the newer aquamists they don't put out 5v, I think its closer to 3v, there is a mod to bump it to 5v but its not necessary and the lower voltage ensures that it doesn't fry anything.

Let us know

after some trial and error I came up with the same conclusion you just started, after playing with the voltage threshold I was able to fix the problem. Based on my wgdc I know the map switching is working correctly but I am still unable to log voltage via evoscan. But for now I have this issue resolved. Thanks for the help.

PS. I'm running a meth kit I put together myself, and I'm very happy with.
