I talked to Russell from Mitsubishiparts.net and he said they are the same and he has sold quiet a few already. I made a post under his vendor section. It goes for about 148 shipped and has them in stock!

Definitely not. The Evo X/JDM MAP sensor is a 3bar sensor and the calibration is very different. If you swap your sensor into his car, I have no doubt that his car will get a CEL and might not run right.

no the EVO IX map sensor will not work in the X. The X map sensor will work in the IX, but you have to reprogram the ECU.

I think with Evo X map sensor on Evo IX, they just need to re-calibrate from ecu? Which field in the xml can be use for calibration?

edit: sorry, I think barometric is used to calibrate

No you just need to follow the directions Mrfred so kindly laid out for everyone.....the evo X map sensor is the exact same part number as the jdm 3 bar.

i changed it to spec on mrfred's thread and was having bad idle problems, sometimes the idle would drop so far, the car would shut off; i switch it back to stock flash, idle would just go up and down and would not stabilize but it wouldnt shut off
