One of my friends recently asked me to look into a project he stumbled across on another forum. Pretty much a group of people are trying to figure out the definitions for a 99 eclipse gsx with the rom id of EM2364 (there is a new .xml file in the latest release of EcuFlash that lists this rom but there is no data in the file). I figured since most of the current EcuFlash development seems to happen here that maybe some of you guys would have some inside info into how to go about finding the definitions needed to get this rom up and working. One person so far has downloaded the stock rom and reflashed it back to the ecu without a problem, so I could see this being a major tool in helping out the older DSM crowd. I also was able to get an "in development" xml file that a few people are working on, but most of the values are still pretty screwy and don't seem to quite add up. Can anyone recommend a good disassembler to use also to figure out a few more of these values? I want to help out a little more but I'm pretty much hunting blind here lol, so any help would be appreciated.

 

IDA Pro is what JCSbanks has been using..there are probably other options I am unaware of though.

You will need to know what the CPU of the ECU is - then you can find out what assembly language it understands which you can give to IDAPro to help disasm...
