I downloaded the unlocker in the zip. When I open the application a little active matrix box pops up and thats it. Pretty sure something else is supposed to happen. Running vista- does that matter?

 

I believe you're supposed to have it open in the background while using EcuFlash if you're having issues with a locked Ecu and using said flashing tool.

 

Or just exit the unlocker with alt-f4 rather than the usual method and it will leave the changes in the registry and you won't need to run the unlocker each time.

 

So I have the ecuflash running and connected to said vehicle and then open the unlocker tool?

 

No, run unlocker first and leave it open when you run Ecuflash. If you want to never have to use the unlocker again, use alt-f4 to close the unlocker.
