ECU Corrupted – need HELP rom# 96420008

Guys,

I need help desperately my car has been stuck for like 2 weeks. I had an ECU flash a while back and things ran fine. My car is ’04 Evo 8 RS bone stock. I had to disconnect the battery to do some work a few weeks back and the check engine light came on a few days later. When my friend and I check it, using the ECU Flash all the data had been changed to random obscure numbers. Unfortunately, he does not have my base ECU rom/maps anymore because his computer crashed, and all my other friends only have Evo 9’s. PLEASE if anyone has a bone stock ECU rom #96420008 please email it to me at Ktoruno@gmail.com . When the ECU got corrupted I have no idea what the base units on the charts should be. And for the Intercooler spray I have not idea what any of the units should be since no one I know has an Evo 8. Please help. I just need a stock rom. I’m willing to buy it if need be!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I do not have the immobilizer code. I will contact a few of my friends tomorrow who I hope have friends at the mitsu dealer and see if they can track that down for me using the key code # I got with the car. I'm hoping that the key code is linked to a specific immobilizer code in the mitsubishi records. My friend and I tried disabling the immobilizer (using ecu flash) but the car still does not start since we are not familar with the units used on the Evo 8 versus the Evo 9.

add the following to the rom definitions file:

<table name="(periphery 0)" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

in ECU flash you should see a table named (periphery 0) in the Misc section.

Change the value to 0x56D2 from 56DA

Your car should fire then

Thanks again! I owe you a beer!

When my friend opens the file using ecu flash the x and y values are messed up. I will try it on my lap top later tonight, maybe there is something wrong with his lap top (ecu flash) which is the one we did the original ecu flash with. If it doesn't work on my lab top I'll let you know. Thanks

It sounds as if the ECU ID number has been changed. Did you flash it or some one else.?

Someone else did the flash. If the ECU ID was changed how would that be corrected?

Add the following to evo7base.xml

<table name="ROMID" category="Misc" address="f52" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex32"/>

That is the ECU ID and it can be changed.
