Hello all,

I am looking for a good base map for my EVO VIII.
I have a few bolt on mods that I am hoping I can find a way to take advantage of.
I know that every car is different, as well as every fuel map, but do know that most tuners start with a good base map.

I have thes bolt on mods, with descriptions.

Full exhaust:
XS Power Turbo Manifold
Stock Turbo
XS Power O2 Dump pipe
Megan Exhaust Down Pipe
Stock Cat
Stock 2.5 piping, with resonators removed.
Manderal bent piping to an Aero 2540i muffler.

3.5" deep x 15" tall x 20" wide oversized bar and fin intercooler.
K&N filter, stock intake piping, airbox, etc.

Underdrive pulles, 3, crank, the one directly above the crank, and the alternator pulley. They are all the same size as stock pulleys, only alot lighter... not sure what that is called, but I was told underdrive pulleys...

Very deep pir, and mild on loudness.

I was hoping this forum is as well networked as my other forum for bikes. We all share a little. Either way, just looking for a good base. I downloaded my rom today after running about 3000 on the new parts. Not sure if that is needed for anyone, or would be of some help.

As for a base map to tune with I honestly started from the base rom. If your looking for someone to professionally tune your car there are many choices our there 4ws, mellon, jester, etc..

My only real working with flashing a fuel map is with my bike and the Power Commander.

With the ECU flash way, do i just send them my rom, and they add a little here n there?

 

Yep plus most of them have you log the car to see if everything is in good order.

I'm glad this is humourous to some of you...lol... Yah, I wasn't sure about that joke, figured it was similiar to a 12 o'clock flasher... You know who you are out there...lol

 

Not bustin your ***** man no worries. There was a time when a certain Tuner would enter big blocks of 8's in your High Octane timing map and never log the car. Meanwhile these cars were knocking ti high hell and pulling timing like crazy.

Here is some free advice. Do your own tuning. It is not that hard. Check the sticky in this forum.

If you do not want to do your own tuning then make sure that the tuner you choose:

1. Uses a wideband to log your AFR. Some tuners use the narrowband O2 on the car, but that is very inaccurate.
2. Uses a MAP sensor to log your boost. Some tuners use a gauge to set the boost. That is not accurate. Gauges can be off by about 1-2 psi.

If you want to get an e-tune, then you will need to invest in a wideband to log your AFR with all the other parameters to send to your tuner. You will also need to log your boost. Currently Evoscan logs the boost from the JDM map sensor and/or the ZT2 Kavlico medical grade map sensor. Your best bet is to get the ZT2 AFR/boost kit. This way you can log all the parameters that your tuner needs to tune your car by e-mail.
