As far as EvoScan is concerned make sure you have that stuff in the correct mode2 section. It should be about 30 lines from the top of your data.xml. You can check for the right place by looking for something in your logging window and finding it in that order (IE line 1 battery volatge, line2 TPS) then close your data.xml, change their location by rearranging them in evoscan and look for where they changed in the data.xml.

As for ECUflash, I'm not sure where you are trying to add the definitions, but if you are in a bind you can add them to both the base.xml file and the rom specific.xml file. That may or may not help you, just make sure they are before the "</rom>" and work on learning the right way to do it.
