Disabling EGR and fuel pressure solenoids
Hey Wicked E,
I want to bypass the FPR solenoid on my Evo5. Do I just run a vacuum line from the manifold directly to the regulator? Should I leave the solenoid plugged in? Do I need to cap off the two ports on the solenoid, loop them, or leave it open?
Can a faulty solenoid cause the FPR to not see boost? I'm getting weird lean AFR readings when I log the car @ WOT, AFR is remaining between 13-14, and that's not good.
Maybe the FPR itself has gone bad? Thus unable to increase the pressure 1:1?
Could it be a clogged fuel filter, dirty injectors, failing fuel pump?
Thanks for your help in advance.

You do NOT need to have the solenoid plugged in and all you do is take a vaccum line straight from the fpr into the intake manifold.
As far as the wot lean condition, its hard to say what it is without seeing the car and/or knowing what the tune looks like.
I can see a faulty solenoid wrecking havoc but I've rarely ever ran into one going bad.
Hope this helps.

This is slightly off topic, but everyone is talking about the Intake manifold and such. Well I run a AMS VSR manifold and BBK 75mm TBody. This does not have a place for the IAC so it is currently taped up and hanging and not an issue with my AEM, but when I swap to the reflash for emissions, does the IAC throw a code, or can I connect the factory end and let it hang or is there something I can disable as well for that?
I apologize... I did not see that post as I was viewing on my blackberry.
I would assume that without the IAC properly functioning on the stock ECU it will run like *** and most likely throw a code for something. I don't recall the IAC having its own code/CEL. You may want to ask the guys at AMS what they suggest doing.

Quick question - has anyone had high idle (3K) at cold start up? One the cars I have here now that I have disabled this stuff on has a high cold start up idle. The idle eventually comes down to a purr like idle at 900ish but, was curious to know if anyone has had this issue and what they did to solve it? I assume possibly idle stepper table adjustments?
I noticed the same thing when I disabled the EGR and pulled the plug to the sensor. I'm running ROM 94170015.
Check to make sure FAA bit 11 is enabled. Sounds like this is disabled as it would cause the crazy high idle at cold start up.
mr. freds mapping of periphery bits. Look at FAA bit 11. It states 1 is disable. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...t_20080830.pdf
