well its not loading the XML properly because of the line 329 thing.

if you reinstall make sure you clean out the xml directory.

then before making any changes see if it loads your ROM ok.

yeah i did that twice now. it doesnt make sense.

I uninstalled it.
Deleted everything.
Rebooted.
Made sure it was all gone.
Installed.
Tried to load the stock rom for 90015 i get the 329 thing and all the infos missing or greyed. I mean its one thing if i screw up an xml file but it doesnt make sense that the files included with 1.4 dont work either. Are there any other files that ecu flash uses of the computer that could cause this?? Maybe ill do a system restore...

1.40 yeah?

hrmm very strange.

when you install ecuflash just reset the "rommetadata directory - in options menu" to the correct place.

maybe you have a copy elsewhere that is being loaded...

ps - this is what ecuflash *should* look like when you load+open a rom

Code:
[14:50:40.671] Version 1.40.2178
[14:50:40.687] 19 memory models read.
[14:50:40.703] scanning for metadata models in C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata

[14:50:45.500] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[14:50:45.500] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[14:50:45.500] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[14:50:45.500] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[14:50:45.500] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.

[14:50:48.000] 88580614 (56 tables) inheriting 88580013 (129 tables)
[14:50:48.062] 524288 byte image read.
[20:48:44.497] Version 1.40.2178
[20:48:44.513] 19 memory models read.
[20:48:44.514] scanning for metadata models in C:/Program Files/OpenECUB/EcuFlash/rommetadata
[20:48:48.190] 319 ROM metadata models scanned.
[20:48:48.190] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[20:48:48.191] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[20:48:48.192] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[20:48:48.192] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[20:48:48.193] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.

[20:48:48.232] flashing tool "shaudmode" loaded.
[20:48:48.233] flashing tool "subarucan" loaded.

so i reinstalled why do you have these two lines loading:

[14:50:47.984] 88580013 (93 tables) inheriting evo9base_20081101 (136 tables)
[14:50:48.000] 88580614 (56 tables) inheriting 88580013 (129 tables)

If this is still happening after an install/re-install your old (corrupted) xml file(s) are still there on the machine. Which file did you change? Was it the evo base xml file or the one specific for your rom?

Depending on that we can do a few more tests to help you prove this .

It stopped actually. I uninstalled for the 3rd time, did a system restore to the laptop back to the 8th, and the roms all load now. I think some other critical system files or somethin like that were corrupted at some point that were repaired by the restore. I mean 2 installs youd think would fix it.

Long time ago I have a similar problem.
Something in the "rommetadata" directory was bad.
I have rename the whole rommetadata directory to rommetadata.old
Then I install ecuflash again and try to start it. The error went away and I copy only my modified xml files back one after another to find the bad one but everything works.

Then I make a compare between the directory's and found a bad file template "read_wrx02.xml" which I never use (Subaru) but which was bad.

Whatever, every thing works again.

Probably was still the old xml files remaining on the system. What JoeBee describes above is probably what happened to you. Anyway glad it worked out .

Really uninstall should blow out that directory but i guess in some situations it does'nt...

back in the 1.29- days i used to have that problem alot. Ecuflash is terrible at cleaning out its files when being uninstalled. I also told it to put it in /ecuflashA instead of the standard location.
