ecu flash jacked up!!

Ok so last week i was adding 5.1patch to an 06 evo9 rom. My laptop crashed, it was late, so i went to sleep. Didnt get back to it till today. I never finished on that xml but it was open when the comp crashed. Tried to open the rom today thinking that when it last crashed the incompleted work was never saved, so it should load up fine right??

Negative!

"Parse error at line 329, column 29:
unexpected character"

all values in all maps arent there, the high an low octane maps are greyed out and the whole timing section is greyed out

other roms i have loaded worked fine...

So i uninstalled ecuflash 1.35 an reinstalled 1.4

Again, Negative!

"Parse error at line 329, column 29:
unexpected character"

its like ecuflashes blue screen of death. Sheeeit!!
other roms i have loaded have scrambled values all over...

So i went further dl'd the stock 9 rom(88590015) from active matrix. Uninstalled/reboot/Reinstalled 1.4, put the original xml an evo 9 base from v1.3 Since the ones from 1.4 didnt work. All still with the same errors. i dont get why is just this rom an xml fubar? An all the others are scrambled. This is like v1.29- days. I thought it was maybe the endians but that doesnt make sense for the utter destruction to the 88590015 rom and xml.

I have v1.3 backed up on an external. If i run the program off there i get assulted by the same error. The dialog box to the right shows nearly all the xmls to be invalid?

Any ideas?

well seeing as how ecuflash is telling you exactly what line is the problem then you should at least work out what is wrong with that line.

get a decent text edit (one that shows line numbers) and jump to #329 and copy/paste the line in here.

whatever, the file is XML so its just plain text.

you can use notepad if you like, but obviously you will need to count to 329 as notepad doesn't display linenumbers (AFAIK)

edit - In Notepad you can "JUMP - CTRL-G" to a line number... just use notepad then

ps - this is what ecuflash *should* look like when you load+open a rom
