Need advise on part throttle knock

Just starting out and need some advise. Sorry for a basic question if it is

I am experiencing this 12 knock at part throttle.

I'm wondering if i'm spacing the value too far apart ? (+/-3 diff should be alright ?)

Any expert advise ?

No mod.

By looking at another part of the log, with similar data (rpm, load), no knock.

I recalled, this is a traffic light pull with a right bend, which on 2nd thought, could it be due to sound from the steering column or watever ?

Also, i read that knock occurs occasionally during closed-loop to open-loop transition. Could this be due to that ?

If it happen consistently change it back to what ever the stock values were and go from there.

Attached here is the datalog file.
Note that at line 21&22, there's 1 knock and then, there's a strange timing of "-1" which is not in my ignition map at all ! And then a series of knock follows.

I also noticed that immediately after the "-1" timing occurance, there's a change in AFRMAP.

Why is the "-1" triggered ?

Note: I don't have a WB02 sensor installed.

I would ignore the -1, it looks like a fluke. As for the 1 count of knock i would not be concerned with it.

Is this a new log or the same one? I would take more logs and try to replicate the knock. If it doesn't happen all the time i wouldn't be concerned. you may also want to cut down how many things you are logging as well.

The -1 could be your car pulling timing due to the knock event. It looks like you are logging almost everything which may reduce resolution. You may have seen the -1 at a more proper timing if you were only logging necessary items.

1 counts at low load are no big deal unless they happen pretty consistently. Since that seems to have stuck around you should probably investigate more. Take a log of a long drive and try to recreate those conditions to see if you hit knock there semi-regularly. It could be noise in which you can reduce your knock filter sensitivity slightly, or it could just help to reduce your timing 1 degree in that area.

The fact that it doesn't *always* happen could still be cause for concern if it is frequent. I have an area of my map that I've been working on that gets a 3 count maybe once every other day, but it will not knock there when I'm running E85. This means that its pretty likely that it is real knock and should be tuned out.

I know i sometimes get "high" counts of knock on my first pull which others have reported as well. The first time i do a pull after cruising i can get from 3-7 counts but it will never happen again.

Yup i would definitely back off timing at 150-170 load at 3000-3500 rpm.

Data from the latest run & timing map after 5 retunes.

Appreciate any feedback.

Noticed that there's still an odd occurance of a -2 timing on line 182
