yeah not sure!

due to the intermittant nature of this problem i wouldn't be too concerned.

if you were consistantly getting tip-in-knock then logs of modded vs stock rom would be appreciated

Hello Tephra

the first test did not work . After reflashing I couldn't start the car.

I sent you per E-mail my rom. Perhaps I made mistake with your options.

Do you check the immobilizer code?
Do you check the value of valet mode?

Tephra, how can we contact you? I have an almost-stock MR and I need the 96940011 ROM along with some Q&A (perfectly willing to support the cause, of course). If you have the time for it, I would appreciate it.

I'm not sure how many people you PM'ed, and we're all here to help... but if you are just starting there is a sort-of minimum amount of reading that is a "barrier to entry". See my PM with the ROM info that you need to switch to and possibly look into the "how to tune an evo" thread. There is also a link in my sig for the stock ECU tuning Wiki that may be helpful.

We can all walk you through it step by step, but all of the information is really here already. One way or another you are going to have to read it, but the more you read and understand the better off you are when any possible problem might arise.

As always, back up your original rom in multiple places before flashing anything.

88840617 is not an official mitsu ROM version. Tephra took 88840017 and altered his v6 ROM to identify itself as 88840617. The reason is because EcuFlash loads up different XML for different ROM versions, and by making a completely new ROM version, Tephra can provide a completely custom XML for that version that includes all of the options for his v6 ROM.

Essentially, it limits the likelihood of XML screw ups, because without his new XML, the ROM won't load into EcuFlash.

I took a look at your ROM.

Can't see anything obvious that's wrong.

What does the car do? no start? start but run bad and die?
