I found it easiest to copy my old directory and run 2 instances of ECUFlash to convert up to v6/7. This should be much easier in the future .

I'll add this info to the wiki since I think we've been over it a few times.

Anyways, getting mrfred's direct boost to work does indeed look as easy as changing the scaling to 'psiag' on those two tables, then re-naming them (ditch the term 'load' for 'boost').

I'll go flash it on the car and give it a try tomorrow on the way to work.
Hey man, if you download my edited ROM and do your copy / paste from there it will be ready to go.

You do have to add the mrfred direct boost control mod to the ROM tephra distributes. You cannot just change the scaling as that will do nothing but change how the data looks looks.

But, if you download the one I posted, that is already done for you, along with other things. Check a few posts back when I posted the links for the downloads and what each ROM has done to it.

^ yup, I have all of the XML for mrfred's direct boost mods still in there, and like I said, I just copied all of the tables over from my old rom (which was using it as well). It is working, but I am coming from a version before map averaging, so I think that is tripping up my car a bit, need to tweak a bit more. I thought I had my alt maps all figured out but still can't seem to hit the high boost map, still playing with it to make sure its not my fault

One thing I have noticed is that 96530706 references the evo7base.xml file not the evo7base_20081101.xml file. Because of that the periphery or MUT stuff is not in the ROM. I've added the periphery .xml info and am working on the periphery stuff now.

Why does the 96530706 reference the one .xml file over the other?

I'm going through the ROM now for any oddities and found something - the injector latency values in the battery voltage columns are all screwy - very high voltages (no where near where they should be).

It could very easily be something I screwed up but, I looked over everything and it looks ok.

the 96530706.xml should include 96530006.xml...

i might change the cat so its TephraModV7, that way if ppl have old xml they will see both and not get overridden..

I got it working last night. I simply grabbed a fresh 96530006.xml file and it everything worked...

Found another slight issue and this time I tried a bunch of things (downloading fresh .xml files and a fresh .bin file) first before posting The NLTS TPS and Launch Map TPS thresholds seem a little screwy. Check out the attached screen shots to see what I am referring too.

I checked both .xml files and found everything in order (I attached screen shots of the 96530706.xml file open in the area of these too items.)

Suggestions?

Has to be something on your XML def. because I don't have an issue here. I would suggest installing a new version of ECUFlash to a new directory and placing the updated XML in that directory. I bet you will find it works perfect, that's what I had to do.

Tephra, I would agree with creating a complete new XML file, people have so much junk left over from old patches it's hard to keep fixing issues that don't need fixed, if you know what I mean.

evo8dad, that is not directed at you by any means, it's just that over the past week or so people have been posting up problems and it turns out they have messed up XML def's or didn't copy something over correctly. Just trying to cut down on that issue, one way would be to create a completely new XML def. just for this ROM.

I would agree with that. I've used every variation of Tephra ROM and have found some whacky things when I converted to v7t5.

I'll try what you suggested and I'm sure I'll be pleasantly surprised to find everything will magically be in order

Phenem/Zach - I downloaded your 2nd ROM (with xml mods included), pasted my maps and immob and got the car running (original 94170008, then 94170015, now 96530706)...

Can't seem to find "Boost Adder" in your modded xml for psi based direct boost??? I've already changed the scaling to psia8 and such, but don't see where you put the boost adder since 1) I'm at a local atmospheric of 12.0 and 2) I often run more than 24.6psi...

I'm new to this ROM (coming from 9417) so it could just be me, but I've double checked my work and all seems correct.

Edit: Seems the following is missing from Mrfreds psi based patch:
<table name="Variable for Boost Control" category="Turbo" address="2025E" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

<table name="SHLR->SHLL for EBC" category="Turbo" address="1ffd6" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

<table name="Boost Error RAM Address" category="Turbo" address="20252" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

<table name="Boost Error RAM Address in Load Error Table" category="Turbo" address="6bfa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

And I found the boost adder, (still called BCLO in your xml) just need to rename it. Anything else I'm missing?

quick Q for people.

88570008 (and 96260009) have twin solenoids.

would people with these ROMID's like me to:
a) leave the passive solenoid alone
b) implement altmap for the passive solenoid
c) b) + 3d gear map for passive solenoid
d) c) + apply same correction and boost drop (and valet) to passive solenoid like the active one?

No particular preference, see what others think and how easy it is to code.
