Flashing the stock ecu not to throw the P0172 code??
I am running the AEM EMS on my car now and put the stock ECU back in each year to go pass emissions. What this means is I have to put the car back to the:
stock ECU
stock injectors
stock cams
stock maf
stop map sensor
stock EGR valve
To make life easier for me, is there a way to flash the stock ECU to not show the
P0172 (rich code)? Leaving the HKS 280 cams in causes the P0172 to be thrown in my car.
As for the stock injectors, I dont think there really is anyway around this since I'm running Precision 1000cc injectors
Since I read somewhere that I can tweak the stock ECU to run speed density, can this be done to my ECU so that I can just leave everything in the speed density set-up as it currently sits?
Is there a way to turn off the EGR trouble code?
Thanks

how often does your cel come on? Every time you drive or every other time? Maybe roll up to emissions, clear codes, turn off car- if they only run car for 10 mins or so it may not pop up until you drive car back home if its anything like my stupid p0300 and p0171 codes. you have 3 different chances over a 15 day period to pass before you have to re-pay the emission fee or go pay and do it somewhere else here in Utah, not sure about NY- worth checking out- I use a hand held pocket scanner, leave it in obdII port 24/7

I never actually saw my EVO throw any real codes when i was running closer to stock. But now I run the AEM EMS and dont throw any codes at all lol...
its just that I'm looking for an easier way to switch back to the stock ecu to go for emissions testing once a year. I dont want to have to swap out the HKS cams and put the stockers in each time. Thats a pretty time consuming process.
Even doing the wires (soldering) for the stock MAF and stock MAP sensors is a pain in the butt....
I dont mind swapping injectors, but I would like to avoid doing the cams!
