GM 3 port question

Does the GM 3port BCS tick and make a lot of noise? I just installed a Subaru Grmmspeed 3 port and that thing makes a ton of noise that even my exhaust can't hide.

Some solenoids are louder than others during actual operation. If you mounted yours on the medal firewall or framerail you may want to find a little piece of insulation or rubber to put between the solenoid and mounting surface. This should quiet it down substantially. Good Luck

I think it got a little quieter, but not much at all. I did put a piece of dynamat under it, as it's mounted near the side motor mount, basically where the stock battery used to be.

I was told the grimmspeed 3 port is significantly quieter than the GM

ummmm its not too bad.

I used some 4mm thick foam (from walbro actually) in between the GM and the regular chassis mounting spot.

no noise.

also if you run 100% WGDC for as long as possible you cant hear it either

I'm still tinkering with the boost settings, but the BCS ticking is pretty intense. I may move it around and put it closer to the front of the engine bay.

So you think the dynamat wasn't thick enough? I know it's not 4mm thick lol, i may just try putting more of it. Thanks tephra

how thick is it?

it needs to be pretty soft to absorb the ticking..

It's not nearly as soft as it more a rubber mat, it's maybe 1mm thick, maybe. I'll try moving it where I can put multiple layers of the mat and add some soft material to lessen the noise.

thanks for the help tephra!
