I have one of the original eeepc's with a 7 inch screen and have used it to upload maps and also to log runs. It is more than adequate for this and if you have alerts, the volume on the speakers goes up to a suitable level to be able to hear whilst driving.
I do run windows xp on it and use "live mesh" to transfer my maps from a larger screen laptop/PC between the two. I can then adjust on either machine and the files are available wherever I want to view them.

I am using a dell mini9 and I am having a problem were I can only see the first two numbers in some of the maps. I am looking at the stationary rev limiter and I can only see 70, I know is should be 4 digits long. Is there an option to show the whole number? I tried stretching the window but the value field does not grow.
Thanks

I am using a MSI Wind. I bought it at newegg for like $299 has the atom CPU and the 10" screen compared to the smaller ones. I have bigger hands and with about 20 mins of use I got it down. The shipped battery has about 3 hours of life, the 9 cell that I got I can get anywhere from 7-9 hours out of it turning down the screen brightness.
It has I think a 160 gig drive so plenty of room for about anything

HP Mini 1030NR...super nice and cheap! 1.6ghz atom, 1gig ram (I upgraded to 2gb for add't $20), 16gig SOLID STATE HARD-DRIVE (no more HD failures due to vibrations), Windows XP. It also retains 92% of a standard size keyboard with a 10.1" screen. AWESOME netbook for the price.

Ok, I have the Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 10.1" version, which I purchased from Fry's Electronics for $329+tax=$366. It has an Intel Atom N270(1.60GHz), 1GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HDD, 3 USB ports, wireless, and WINDOWS XP! :P It is very light around 3lbs(w/ battery), it has a 6cell battery that lasts 7+ hours of tuning/logging with 1 full charge. The screen is very clear and crisp. I love it and it can also fit in my glove box. I upgraded to a 2GB of RAM and it got even faster (although not as fast as a decently built desktop). If you buy it online from http://www.bhphotovideo.com and or http://www.jr.com/ would be best because you will save by not paying taxes and its FREE shipping! :P
There are some pictures here, it is being compared to the 8.9" version.

It also accepts SD cards for additional storage.
For the price, this thing rocks!

I use the dell mini 9. The atom processor runs stuff fine. I save all my roms in the SD card so that I can bring the map up on my big laptop if I want to spend a lot of time working on something. Otherwise the dell mini 9 runs everything just fine and runs for hours. The solid state hardrive is great. $330 shipped with a carrying case and SD card from Dell. 8 gig SS hardrive, SD slot so basically you can install your programs on the SD card and not even use the hardrive. FYI you can get 32 gig SD drives now. 3 USB inputs so you can log taxtrix, wideband, and have a mouse hooked up.
