The learning curve for tuning is vertical. We all learn more and more each day.

Keep us posted.

ok i'm almost ready to log my car with wb02 but before i start doing that i have few questions about my stock o2. After logging the car i realised that my low and medium trims are on 12, and the o2 readings aren't very good. So my question is, is there a way for me to test if my o2 is working or is there a way to maybe calibrate the sensor for the new exhaust system???
I have checked the connection of the o2 and everything seems to be connected and my evoscan doesn't allow me to view the codes(it says no connection with the cable 2.0)???.

What would you guys recommend for me to get my stock o2 to work again???

thanks,

In most cases, when the O2 goes bad you will throw a code. Since you just installed the exhaust you very well could have an exhaust leak causing a problem. Look for an exhaust leak.

Where is the O2 located on a JDM evo? If it is like the USDM the front O2 is under the turbo on the O2 housing...DUH......Anyway, check that it is fully seated and that the connector is tight.

As for your trims being 12s.....did you cange anything other than just the exhaust?

The 2.0 cable is only supported by the newest versions of EvoScan. Try upgrading.

all i had done to the car is full exhaust including custom dump pipe and thats where the o2 is located and just panel filter. Now i have checked the connection plug for the o2 but now will have to check the sensor it self as you advised. I'm already using 2.6 evoscan which lets me log but doesn't want to work with dtc, but yet it allowed me to clear the code but since i disconnected the sensor in order to check the connection the cel came back on.
With the exhaust leak would it be certain section that would throw everything out of of order or any leak???

thanks for fast reply.

An exhaust leak prior to the O2 wil cause issues. Everything needs to be well sealed for the O2 go get a good reading.

It is possible that the O2 got damaged when it was removed an re-installed. I know this because it happend to me.

The connector under the spark plug cover for the O2 could be loose. Then there is another connector on the back side of the valve cover where the wires come out...look below the wires and check the connector.

Why would you have a Cat if there isn't a rear O2 to monitor it's efficiency? Why not remove the heat shield...install a test pipe and install the heat shield to make the test pipe look like a cat? Just curious.

i checked the connector under the sparkplug cover yesterday and thats good will look for the other connector in a min, also will jack the car up and check the sensor it self. if let say everything is good is there a way to check the o2 if it actually works or not really???

With the cat i have done what u said on my vr4 and didn't notice any difference, only thing was the car smelled bad so didn't like that. i bought a cat from you guys in US but in reallity it's just a sraight through 3 inch pipe that looks like a cat
another thing is if you ever get in accident you car is automatically send to impound yard which you have no acces to so the insurance company can go through your car and if they find that the cat has been removed the won't pay out and i think thats the main reason people don't practice that as often.

The o2 sensor may not work in the open dump pipe. It should be installed in the down pipe to the cat or the o2 housing but not the custom dump pipe that is open to the air.

Is there a valve to close off the dump pipe so u can run thru the cat only ?

Interesting about the cat.

OK to test the O2 you can use EvoScan (Oxygen Sensor) to see if the voltage jumps up and down properly. I believe it should stay below 1V.
