The o2 sensor may not work in the open dump pipe. It should be installed in the down pipe to the cat or the o2 housing but not the custom dump pipe that is open to the air.

Is there a valve to close off the dump pipe so u can run thru the cat only ?

Milburn
i'm not really sure what you mean by open to the air???
all i have is custom made dump which is bigger comparing to stock but still similiar design. and also not sure about the dump pipe and running through the cat only, could you explain??

thanks for the input

In EvoScan you will see a listing of all of the available loggable items. In the list is the "Oxygen Sensor". Simply check the box. You should see the voltage bounce from just under 1V to almost 0V. The easiest way to see this is to do a log of about 30 seconds at idle. Make sure the car is pleanty warm before logging. Then open a graph of the log and look to see the wave that the bouncing O2 voltage will create.

As Milburn stated above...your O2 sensor must be placed in a location that will allow for the full exhaust to pass it. If any is bypassing it....you will get bad readings.

I think when you are refering to a "dump pipe" you are actually (in american terms) meaning a Tubular O2 Housing.

Is this item the 5 bolts that connects to the hot side of the turbo?

yes o2 housing it is i will do some more logging but from previous logs it was like 0.03v -0.01 i think and a lot of times it was just flat 0 but this is still to be confirmed. the o2 hopusing should be picking all the gases as it's not divided into 2 sections, just 1 big area

It sounds like your O2 sensor is hosed. Get another and hopefully all is good.

Any newer mitsubishi sensor will work. You will have to splice wires though. Sensors are the same...plugs are different.

You should be able to get one for around 50$ on the boards. Lots of people sell them.
