NLTS Knock!

05 EDM Evo8 96530706.

I`m getting consistent knock sum of 30-20 counts on each gear if i use NLTS, but no knock on regular shifts. Anybody having same problems?

I already searched the forum, but couldn`t find any similar problems and would appreciate any input.

You need to reduce the timing in that area between shifts, for you look in the area of load 160-200, and where ever the RPMS are(6500-7500?). You can see the jump in timing, get rid of that and it should go away.

However, if it is in the tune and you have real knock you should hear/feel 20-30 counts....

I do feel that the car slows down if i use nlts. But i have no knock at all if i shift with nlts off.

this is my ignition map, i would appreciate if you could show me my mistakes, or give an example of correctly smoothed timing.

it not so much ur smoothing.

at high load (160 - 210) and high rpm ( 6000-7500) ur timing is too high so when ur car clips these cells under shifting or NLTS knock will occur (the reason you dont get it on normal shifting is u dont shift fast enough).

on another note there is a thread on smoothing timing using an excel spreadsheet. u can search for it. or PM me with ur email and i can send tomorrow.

Post the log too.

But just lower the timing in that area, the map will not be smooth, but really when was the last time you hit those load cells?
