If you set the Dyno Correction to 'USER 1' or 'USER 2' it allows the user to choose his own correction factor to more closely match his/(her?) local dyno results. The values I preset are from compiled data from all over the U.S. from different dyno shops who were awesome enough to lend a hand. This doesn't mean it will match every dyno (especially since a lot of shops don't have theirs setup correctly!) so this allows some flexability for the user.

I think for now I'm just gonna ask users to try the trial version of Microsoft Excel 2007 until i can sort out the OpenOffice Version there is a 'hack' to get around the activation code for Excel 2007 but you guys can google that if you wanna try.

So, even though I dont own a EVO, I do own a Mirage. I use Mitsulogger software and I dl'ed this program and went out for another log. As you can see, for the all the needed info, the Virtual Dyno Sim is damn near close to real figures. I thought I let every seen my run. Thanks for the support

Thanks for the A/B comparison! Its nice to see how it matches up to real dyno results. So I found the Weather Correction Error, its only on the Comparison Pull side. Its referencing the Base Pull boxes which was from my copying and pasting.

I updated the link so now the weather corrections are all working. Just redownload v5.3

Thanks for all your hard work!! I just tried v5.3 and notice that the same data log results in about 10 more hp and tq on the Dynojet setting, compared to v5.2. Is this expected? I also noticed the Dynoject correction factor is LOWER in the new v5.3, so I would have expected the resulting hp/tq to be lower as well. Any thoughts? Thanks!

EDIT: one possible explanation may be the smoothing changes? I had it set at "1" on v5.2 and "4" on v5.3 o get similar curves, yet v5.3 read higher.

Its basically due to the new smoothing requirements with the 50 RPM increments. The dynojet values should be closer to 'most' dynojets now. I still need more data from AWD dynojet shops to get it closer.

As you can see from the example above...its not 'too' far off base

Figured out why OpenOffice doesn't work. It doesn't recognize one of the new Excel formulas I'm using so I gotta see if I can find an equivelant formula. *sigh*

What's wrong with using earlier version of ms office? I am using 2003 and it seems to work fine.

Well you can't DL it online anymore that was the only reason why I said 2007. We just need to find an unlocked version of either for users to use until I can make a visual basic 'PROGRAM' out of this so its a stand-alone program by itself. I just have no clue how to do it yet.

I was going to ignore this the first time you mentioned it, thinking you were just kidding and I was missing the joke, but now I actually think you might be serious (or someone else is going to take it that way). Come on Jamie, you aren't seriously advocating pirating Microsoft Office on a public forum like this when there's a fully-functional office suite available at no cost, with source code, for anyone to use? Set aside the specific issue of your spreadsheet not currently working in OOo for a moment, and consider what you're saying in the bigger picture.

Back in the day, a lot of folks working on EcuFlash-related stuff were accused of being nothing more than thieves by certain established companies (one in particular, NASIOC regulars might remember that thread), insisting that there was no way all of this was accomplished by a few guys independently reverse-engineering their ECUs with the help of publically-available documentation, and that they must have ripped it off from someone's (commercial) product. But that's exactly how it happened.

Stuff like this remind me of that argument, for some reason.

lol, that amused me. I'm just looking for a quick solution for users until i can either get this into a stand-alone program which won't require Excel or OpenOffice, or I can get OpenOffice to do what it so obviously was intended to do...mimic Excel.

Its either I give up and tell everyone to get their own paid version of Excel and call it a day or I put in even MORE of my own time for little-to-no return on the investment of my time. I am going to invest my own time of course (I always do). The wife is getting a little erk'd at the amount of hours I have put into this project so far (exceeding 70 hours total so far...she's keeping track and constantly reminds me lol).

If I can quickly find a way to have OpenOffice remove the blank rows in a column and place the data in another column without the blank rows I should be able to get an OpenOffice version to work.

P.S. I advocate pirating ANYTHING Microsoft offers lol.

LOL, it's now at the mercy of the openoffice gods. I posted a thread in their forum so hopefully someone can help me soon.
