Scaling 260 -> 300 with different roms
Scaling 260 -> 300 with different roms
Hi guys first time poster, recent reader
Looking to get some insight on the differences I have found when trying to get a tephra 5.10 rom setup for my Evo 7 ECU (JDM 98640014).
I have done my best to migrate all of my settings from my stock map -> tephra (Thanks for the video Jack!). As you may well know there are some differences here for some of the axis, for eg. fuel and ignition timming maps scale 10->260 on my stock maps, where tephra is 10->300.
I have searched the forum without finding alot of solid info on this, apologies if it is, it wasn't obvious to me. Appreciate it if you can point me in the right direction if so.
Anyway, I have run the tephra rom briefly on my car (with my 10-260 ign+fuel maps etc). It seemed like the wastegate was stuck closed, and boost did not want to come on and the car was very twitchy around revs beyond 3k... quickly went back to stock after the first slow run.
Questions:
1) Should I be copying my axis, if not is it easy to 'scale' them to match the 10-300 style?
2) Is my stock rom able to handle the move to a 90550001? - I saw a few posts which said yes, but worthwhile double checking
Anyone who has come across this I would greatly appreciate your feedback
Thanks in advanced
Derek

I would talk to a reputable tuner. You can simply change the scaling but that would put all of your load cells off and cause your tune to be messed up. It would be ok to transfer over load cells that are in the proper cell. Like 260 to the new 260 spot but not 260 to 300. Basically, you will need to retune for the higher load cells in all maps that are going to be affected.
i can rescale for you if you would like, you can email me with your rom and ill send it back pretty quickly. send me a message if you want me to do this and ill give you my email
There is also an automatic rescaler that is posted on here somewhere. If your original rom has scaled axes you will need to scale them in the tephra rom or your tune will be off.

Awesome, the scaler spreadsheet worked well!
I still seem to have a waste gate feel, and no boost is seen when it should be comming on, very twitchy any ideas?
Will keep scouring my roms to compare them side by side again
