TephraMod V.6 boost control problem

EcuFlash gurus please chime in,

I don't have much experience tuning the evo, but Dudical26 and I have encountered a problem while attempting to tune my car on the latest TephraMOD v.6. It seems that the WGDC is showing what it should be thorough the rpm range, but for some reason the car is building what seems to be wastegate pressure.

Sometimes it runs wastegate pressure and sometimes, it runs what we tell it to run. Which we thought was odd. We flashed it roughly 6 different times and I would say 3/3 would encounter this problem.

We believe it is the rom not the hardware because when we put the old map on it it builds boost fine.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Dudical26 was busy or he would have posted this, but I'm sure he will chime in.

you are meant to use the NEW 3d BWGDC maps...

leave the stock 2d maps alone.

Rom is 88590015

I am only touching the new 3D maps.

Stock 2D maps are all set to 100%

Its odd, we will flash and have boost, then flash again with a new WGDC table, and the boost curve will change accordingly, then flash a third time and have no boost at all.

"WGDC @ 100 before load" is set to 0 if that matters.

Any suggestions? Do you want to see the ROM?

possibly try setting "WGDC @ 100% before load" to 100 load and see if that changes anything?

Are you using direct boost or load based?

direct boost W/ JDM MAP.

I'll try changing it to 100 load but that shouldn't really change anything, I'll see and report back

Call me a noob, but would this account for the drastic inconsistencies?

It's a new rom, so maybe It's in testing, not final release. Set to zero. Sheesh! Use it man, use it!

If you are using direct, just go back through the mrfred thread and make sure you did it correctly. I missed something the first time I did it, but it has worked perfectly since.

The ROM I am using is actually the one you had sent me a while ago with the definition files and all that stuff. So perhpas I am having the same problem you had.

I'll check the MR. Fred Direct Boost to see if something was missed.

Ok after building a new rom with the TephraMOD v.6 I still have the same problems.
-Running wastegate pressure
-Unusual barking at around 25% throttle as the wastegate opens and closes.
-evap delete patch isn't working either

Any ideas?

Would it be best if I posted my Rom file?

Yay! lol.

Tephra, you are a true asset to the community!

I think I may have fixed the problem with the car always going into waste gate. I will need a few more drive cycles to be sure.
