How to tune for more torque??

How can I tune for more torque. Using DataLogLab I have 380 HP but only 340 TQ.

My boot spikes to about 20-21. I suppose I could raise my boost a little, but I sometimes get knock when my boost spikes.

Any tips for more torque?

Here is a pic of a log where I get a little knock during spool up, this happens sometimes but not every time.

Do you have alky or meth injection?

Don't know much about much but with a little more tuning you can probably get the torque number close to your hp. Couple of other ways though... turn up the boost (but you're getting knock), stroke it, or add alky...

Pretty much, you either need to run more boost, more timing, or less fuel, all of which will cause you to knock more if you use the same fuel. Therefore, you'll need something to raise your detonation threshold. So higher octane gas, or alky/meth/water injection.

I mean with just tunning. No different gas, alky, anything like that.

I see some people post dyno #'s from pro tunners and they often make equal TQ and HP. What other tunning can be done here?

Well, would you rather have 340tq, 340hp

Dudical are you still using any part of my MIVEC map? Or has it been retuned since then?

I am still using most of your mivec map - other than that everything has changed.
Although I must say it seems that your map really holds the power well, so I have to thank you for that. Perhaps there is a way to make more torque by changing your mivec map during spool.

Do you think I would make more TQ if I were to try and up my boost to spike at about 22-23 and lower my timing to around 2-3 degrees at the spike to try to suppress knock?

Let me get home after this weekend and I will send you the latest version of the map (full .hex) and you can take a look and see what you want to use. Ad far as the boost, DEFINITELY increase it near peak torque to 22-23. My MR did that off the showroom floor with no changes at all. I run 25psi spike tapering to 22-23 by redline now on pump with 4* at peak torque on 92 octane. Hit me up on the other board with a PM to remind me please and I will make sure it gets to you sometime tuesday.

Evo IX tune is a bit different than how you tune an VIII. You can spike the IX's pretty decent and not lose trapspeed.

You might have a bit more luck raising boost and lowering timing a bit..

If your fighting knock, there may not be anything you can do at this point as its likely your losing torque as the ECU reacts to the knock anyway. If thats the case, try running it a little richer as you make adjustments.

I already have my timing pretty low around 3-4 at peak torque. I will try running 2-3 with slightly higher boost spike. My AFR is already pretty rich going 10.6 around peak torque. (I did not mean to run that rich but I had an exhaust leak that was throwing off my wideband) Now that the leak is fixed I will adjust my AFR at peak torque to around 11.0 Maybe I was getting knock from being overly rich??

I run 5-6 advance from 3000-3500

I also changed my Mivec maps pretty dramatically and I got my torque curve to slide about 300-400rpm's to the left of my power graph. (torque earlier)
