I also tried modifying the address from 0x7f121, etc by taking out the x first, then tried taking out the 0x so the address read7f121, 8ab11,etc. Nothing made those tables show up. I did completely exit out of xml editor and ecuflash each time I made a change to a definition. Any ideas?

Am I correct that I'm changing the 52680015 definition in the rommet>mitsu>evo>52680015 file, and that is supposed to add those tables for whatever saved rom image (.hex) for rom id 52680018 when I open them in ecuflash?
Is it actually saving the changes? Some people have their permissions wrong, so when you make a change, save it to the desktop then drag it into the rom folder.

You should only need to change the 15.

When I close it and open the file later it shows up so I'm thinking it's saving. I will try saving to desktop first.

Edit: I ran as administrator in order to move the file from desktop to rommetdata and replaced the 52680018. It still doesn't show up. I got pissed and uninstalled/reinstalled ecuflash and tried again. No luck. I'm starting to get pretty frustrated.

Haha, you're just having all the luck, aren't you?

Make sure your ECUFlash is pointing to the right directory (the same one you changed the files in). Make sure your file is actually being edited (open it with Wordpad after you save it). Make sure you're changing the right file for the ROM you want to open (if you change say, the MR XML, it won't show up until you open a MR ROM).

If none of that works, PM me.

All of this can be done with the cable disconnected from the car, correct? I assumed this could be done all through the definitions file and checking to see those 3 new tables show up by opening ecuflash and loading my rom.

Pm'ed you.

I just got it. The 52680015 inherits from evoxbase.xml. I placed it in misc there and it showed up. Note: I don't have it in def 52680015, only in evoxbase. Now onto the placing the config.txt...

Great pictorial.

Coming from an ECUflash/EVOscan newbie, these step by step instructions were of great benefit.

Now its time to log, log, and log some more

I seem to be having a problem with step 8. When I click set data I don't get the small window that says enter value or expression. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Open the table, click the cell with the number in it, and push "=".

Does it work then?

Hrm, I think that the 15-20 Memory locations also apply to Rom 21. Just FYI in case anyone is wondering. Rom 21 says that it inherits from 15.

Ok so I got all the way to adding the text into my .xml file but it wont let me save it. I am MS wordpad and its nto letting me save it, I am thinking because it cant save it as an .xml file. What .xml editor is everyone using? the one I foudn has this tree user interface but I cant get it to work right.

Hi guys. To enable mode23 on newer ROM 52680022, is it all the same as for ROM 52680015 -> 52680020? So these below are the rows to copy into the 52680015.xml file?

<table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #1" category="Misc" type="1D" address="0x7f121" scaling="Hex8"/>
<table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2" category="Misc" type="1D" address="0x8ab11" scaling="Hex8"/>
<table name="DoMode 0x42 -> 0x52" category="Misc" type="1D" address="0x8ab16" scaling="Hex16"/>

Thanks!
