Question USB to Serial Compatibility with Vista x64 Bit??

Hi Guys-

I purchased a Dynex Cable model number DX-UBDB9 from Best Buy.. The drivers that it came with are for "Vista," but I knew that the x64 is a lot trickier to deal with.. so I looked for an updated version of the driver that would be compatible with x64 and I found one . Here is the thing, I plug in the cable and it has to install the driver each time.. then it claims that the device is "ready to use and installed right," but then I check the device manager and it has a yellow flag by it and says that i is not working correctly.. so I try to "reinstall" the drivers from there and it does not install them.. Can some one PLEASE help or recommend a cable that will work with the vista x64 for sure? I need this to be able to log wideband for the lc1 in evoscan.

Thanks so much!!

UPDATE: i solved the problem!

Dynex is owned by Best Buy. I'd suggest going in/talking to their Geek Squad and they can hopefully point you in the right direction.

Sounds good, if I cannot figure it out.. I might go this route.. I just figured some one would have vista x64 and a cable that actually works with it or the same cable I have and a way around the issues. thanks

Any luck finding it? What process did you go through to install this cable? Did you download the drivers first and then the cable after? And do you have the dynex cable like me? Thanks!!!!

Okay cool man.. I should be able to get it to work.. Does yours stay installed after you install it once or do you have to install the drivers every time you connect it? Thanks so much!

Good deal......glad you got it to work

I found the install file - I had to use a PL-2303 vista driver installer, if you end up needing it pm me and i can email you the file.
