BlueMUT - logging via cellular

Minimal requirements for cellular are CLDC1.1, MIDP 2.0, JSR82 and JSR 75.

Yes its J2ME, which makes it portable to any PDA/cellular, it uses bluetooth connection.

The BlueMUT is configurable by EvoScan Data.xml, but I may convert it to mitsuloger requestID.xml if Hamish will have objections.

The logging speed is around 12 (min 10- max 14) requests per second which is not bad if you take processor power of cellular into account.

In near future I shall code storing of logged data to csv at memorycard present in almost all cellulars today. Next step will be adding DTC support.

I have started this project already in January, finally I can share some pictures with all of you.

Okay, that's really cool.

Can I ask for details on the hardware interface? I'd tossed around the idea of doing something like this a while back using an arduino+bluetooth interface for my own purposes, but I've got too many projects going as it is.

I think you'll have problems with iPhones (no java) and Android (broken java), but reimplementing the client wouldn't be too painful if the hardware is simple enough.

Where do you find time for this stuff?

its J2ME (Java based), so OS does not play a role here, but phone has to support minimal requirements as stated above.

I have drawn a schematics for hobbyists.

I may even arrange some production if enough interest is shown.

You can download application from this post.
Application is still in development stages, but one can already log.
My main interest was to have a knock gauge.
If I will come to the stage that source code is presentable, I will post it.

I know I will never get enough money to buy me an EVO, but if you feel like it is valuable for you, you may send some donation
If you want to go commercial with it please ask for permission.

I can't imagine owning an iPhone that wasn't jailbroken.

Seriously, people can actually use these things without Cydia?
