new EvoScan to Logworks file converter

Hi all,

I have written a small tool to convert evoscan log files to logworks data interchange format.
Now you can view and analyze you Evoscan files in Logworks.

This tool is just a quick and dirty tool (not beta, not even alpha.).
I haven't spend much time, because it works for me now. I'm not good at making real software so i did it as a server script. I haven't planed to make it public but maybe someone can use it.

Link: http://www.eclipse-ig.de/LogFileConv.php

Keep a backup of you orginal file.

If you have question or improvements. Post them here.

Some notes:
1.) Logworks uses a 0.082 second interval for each sample. Because of this the time line is not correct. But i don't need it to be correct.

2.) I have testet it up to 2 MB files, i don't know where the limit is.

3.) The generated logfiles will be deletet after 9 minutes. Download it fast!

I hope it will work.
enjoy it.

Very nice work I was thinking to do it myself, so you are one step in front of me
Do you mind sharing the source, maybe I can write a macro for Xcel or OO spreadsheet

Doesn't seem to work for me. Gives me two errors using Logworks 3.

Error: Incompatible File

Error: No sessions in file or incompatible file

EDIT: I got the file to work by deleting all the channels that did not have data.

Awesome idea though as I hate using evoscan for viewing logs and analyzing data, but it's a lot easier to setup the channels in evoscan and do multiple logs.

A note on the time step, once you open the file in logworks and resave it, it will change the time step as mentioned. This will mess up any VDR readings you try to get after that.

I'm having the same problem but I can't seem to figure out the solution.

I get the same error messages. I tried deleting "empty channels" (which i think are blank columns?) in the *.dif file but I still got the same error.

Then, I deleted the empty columns in the source *.csv file, and did the conversion on that.

Logworks attempts to open the log, but nothing actually displays, and Logworks eventually crashes.

I just wanted to thank Deepnine for this conversion program.

I tried converting logs by hand and kept getting errors.

It works perfect with my mods for the 98-99 DSM ecus and custom EvoScan .xmls

EvoScan will only let you MapTrace the Fuel and Timing maps, so for making tables for SD and other things LogWorks is great.

Not strictly true if I'm correctly assuming what you need to do....

Taken from one of JCSBs SD posts:

Once we get your VE plots in Evoscan I think it will all come together and just work if it is anything like mine.

To get Evoscan to display MAP instead of load on its load axis you need to rename the columns in your .csv log.

- change Load to Loadold
- change MAP (in kPa) to Load
- Then change the "airvol" column of figures (a handy spare labelled column) to 100*Loadold/Load

Then get Evoscan to plot airvol and you'll see MAP vs RPM vs VE as percentages.

Then you can take these percentages to create your MAPVE and RPMVE tables.

Or you could tell me to shut up because I'm assuming. Wrongly...

Today i made some updates.

- removing items from log file with no value (not logged in Evoscan)
- fixed problem with filesize > 2MB
- new colors

the new codes parts take some time for files 2MB and more.
Maximal size is 8MB.

Not all logged items are colored, if you want someting in a new color send me a PN.
